Varsity Painters serves the entire Twin Cities metro area, concentrating primarily in the west and south metro suburbs. Since 1995, we have specialized in high-end residential interior and exterior painting, while also providing professional painting services for property managers, associations, and select light commercial clients. In 2025, Varsity produced over $5.5 million in revenue with 50+ painters and continues to grow. We operate multiple professional production crews and are trusted by homeowners and commercial partners throughout the metro area for quality, professionalism, and long-term reliability. We are expanding and looking to add a professional Sales Consultant to our team.

Job Overview
Position Overview This is a consultative in-home and relationship-based sales position. You will meet with homeowners and commercial contacts, assess project needs, prepare detailed proposals, and guide clients confidently through the decision process. The majority of leads are company-provided through established marketing channels. There is also an expectation of some self-generated business through networking, referrals, and relationship building. You will be supported by an experienced operations team, strong brand reputation, and proven systems.

  • Engage in outside sales activities by reaching out to prospective clients through cold calling, networking events, and territory management to generate new leads and expand our customer base.
  • Conduct comprehensive product demonstrations and technical sales presentations to showcase solutions tailored to client needs.
  • Manage existing accounts through proactive account management strategies, ensuring customer satisfaction and fostering long-term relationships.
  • Develop new business opportunities via targeted marketing campaigns and strategic business development initiatives.
  • Utilize CRM software such as Salesforce to track leads, manage customer interactions, and analyze sales data for continuous improvement.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing with clients, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements that support sales targets.
  • Perform territory management by identifying high-potential markets and optimizing sales routes for maximum coverage and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Meet homeowners and property managers at scheduled appointments
  • Walk properties and evaluate scope of work
  • Prepare detailed, professional proposals (training provided)
  • Follow up and close sales
  • Develop referral and repeat business
  • Coordinate with production managers for smooth project execution
  • Maintain accurate CRM records

Qualifications

  • Proven sales experience in painting, remodeling, construction, roofing, or related home services strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to estimate, present, and close projects within residential or light commercial environments
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Self-motivated and highly organized
  • Comfortable discussing pricing and closing projects
  • Valid driver’s license

Pay: $80,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
