Position Overview

Professional Floor Covering Inc. is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Sales

Consultant – Flooring & Design to join our team. This role is responsible for guiding

customers through the selection and purchase of flooring, window treatments, and interior

design solutions. The ideal candidate is passionate about design, driven to achieve sales

goals, and committed to delivering an outstanding customer experience from initial

consultation through project completion.

Key Responsibilities

- Greet and engage customers in a friendly, professional manner to build strong

relationships

- Assess customer needs and recommend tailored flooring and design solutions, including

carpet, hardwood, tile, luxury vinyl, area rugs, cabinets, and window treatments

- Maintain in-depth product knowledge to effectively communicate features, benefits, and

value

- Generate, track, and follow up on leads, quotes, and estimates to drive sales conversions

- Conduct in-store consultations and coordinate in-home measurements as needed

- Collaborate with installers, vendors, and internal team members to ensure seamless

project execution

- Maintain showroom appearance, including merchandising, displays, and sample

organization

- Meet or exceed individual and team sales goals

- Accurately process orders and promptly address customer questions or concerns

Qualifications

- Previous sales experience required (retail or design-related preferred)

- Strong communication, interpersonal, and closing skills

- Basic understanding of interior design principles is a plus

- Ability to quickly learn product lines and installation processes

- Proficiency with basic computer systems and point-of-sale software

- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated

Preferred Skills

- Experience in flooring, home improvement, or interior design sales

- Knowledge of measuring spaces and reading floor plans

- Familiarity with design software such as ProKitchen, 2020, or similar visualization tools
