Job summary
A busy freight forwarding & logistics company near Hotel Metropole, Saddar is looking for a reliable, organised Sales Coordinator (mid-level) to support sales and operations teams. You’ll handle day-to-day customer service, prepare quotations and documentation, follow up with clients and carriers, and help convert leads into bookings while maintaining accurate records.
Important: Minimum Intermediate (12 years) education required. At least 1 year’ experience in the freight forwarding / logistics industry is mandatory. Male applicants must reside in North Nazimabad, North Karachi, Buffer Zone or Shadman Town only.
Key responsibilities
- Receive and respond to customer enquiries (email / phone / WhatsApp); prepare and send timely quotations for air, sea and road freight.
- Follow up on outstanding quotations and convert leads into shipments.
- Coordinate booking instructions with carriers / agents / shipping lines and confirm space/slots.
- Prepare and check export/import shipping documents (commercial invoice, packing list, BL/HAWB / MAWB data, delivery orders, etc.) and hand over to operations / documentation team.
- Liaise with operations, customs clearance and warehousing teams to ensure timely pickup, delivery and clearance.
- Track shipments and proactively update customers on status, exceptions and ETAs.
- Raise and follow up on invoices and coordinate with accounts for collections.
- Maintain CRM / sales pipeline and daily call/quotation logs.
- Assist Sales Manager with monthly sales reports, KPI tracking and market feedback.
- Handle basic rate comparisons and maintain rate sheets / tariffs.
- Resolve routine customer complaints and escalate complex issues to the Sales Manager.
- Maintain accurate customer records and filing (physical & electronic).
Required qualifications & experience
- Minimum Intermediate (FA/FSc/ICS or equivalent; 12 years schooling).
- At least 1 year experience in freight forwarding, NVOCC, shipping agency, or logistics operations/sales.
- Good command of spoken and written English
- Strong telephone manner and customer-service orientation.
- Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and comfortable learning a CRM / TMS.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple enquiries simultaneously.
- Basic understanding of freight terminology (AWB, HBL, BL, INCOTERMS basics) and shipment lifecycle.
- Residence requirement for male applicants: must live in North Nazimabad, North Karachi, Buffer Zone, or Shadman Town. (Female applicants: no location restriction stated.)
- Ability to come to the Saddar office daily and undertake occasional local errands.
Preferred / nice-to-have
- Experience with a freight forwarding system / TMS or CRM.
- Basic understanding of customs procedures and charges.
- Prior exposure to LCL/FCL, airfreight and domestic trucking coordination.
- One year of sales follow-up or B2B customer service experience.
