We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Sales Design Consultant to join our Fairfield showroom team.

Position Summary

The Sales Design Consultant is responsible for generating sales through professional customer engagement, product expertise, and solution-based design consultation.

This role combines retail showroom sales, customer service, and design guidance in a commission-driven environment. Successful candidates are customer-oriented, self-motivated, and passionate about helping customers bring their home improvement projects to life.

Compensation

Fairfield Pay Range: $25.00 – $35.00 per hour during introductory period

Actual starting pay will depend on qualifications, experience, and relevant skills.

The first six (6) months of employment are considered an introductory period. During this time, employees receive:

• A guaranteed hourly rate within the posted range
• A reduced commission percentage, as outlined in the applicable written commission agreement

If both the Company and employee agree that an earlier transition is appropriate, compensation may transition sooner through mutual written agreement.

Following the introductory period (or approved earlier transition), compensation will consist of:

$20.00 per hour draw against commission, plus commissions earned pursuant to the applicable written commission agreement.

This is a non-exempt position. Overtime is paid in accordance with California law.

Total annual earnings vary based on individual sales performance.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and assist showroom customers in a professional, consultative manner
• Identify customer needs and recommend flooring solutions aligned with their goals, style, and budget
• Prepare quotes, proposals, and process sales transactions using QFloors POS system
• Generate and follow up on leads to drive new business opportunities
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships throughout the sales process
• Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally
• Collaborate with team members to ensure an exceptional customer experience
• Maintain showroom appearance, merchandising, and visual presentation standards
• Stay informed on product offerings, design trends, and industry knowledge
• Follow company policies, procedures, and operational standards

Qualifications

Required:

• Previous retail sales experience
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
• Comfortable working in a commission-based sales environment
• Basic math and computer proficiency
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays

Preferred:

• Flooring, interior design, home improvement, remodeling, or related sales experience
• Showroom sales or design consultation experience
• Bilingual language skills are a plus

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Ability to bend, reach, kneel, and perform showroom-related tasks
• Ability to occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds
