FMC HR is looking for a Sales Development Engineer to expand the activities of our client, a European manufacturer providing mechanical and electronic components to the heating equipment industry.
This role involves direct interaction with OEM customers, addressing technical inquiries, preparing quotations, managing sales documentation, and contributing to the overall efficiency of the sales process. It blends technical mindset with proactive sales development activities, directly contributing to the revenue growth by identifying opportunities, providing operational support, and ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction. The SDE will act as a primary point of contact for a significant portion of the customer base, enabling the Country Business Development Manager to focus on strategic accounts & network and new market expansion. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, technically proficient, and possess excellent communication skills.
The position will be based in Istanbul and work from home office.

Act as the primary commercial and technical point of contact for assigned OEM customers.
- Proactively identify and pursue upselling, cross-sell, and new business opportunities within the existing customer base.
- Regularly communicate with customers to ensure satisfaction and build strong, lasting relationships, gather feedback, and identify potential challenges or emerging requirements.
- Prepare accurate and timely sales quotations, proposals, and tender responses based on customer specifications and company guidelines.
- Effectively communicate product specifications, applications, and competitive advantages to customers.
- Maintain meticulous records of all customer interactions, sales activities, and opportunity statuses within the salesforce.com system.
- Assist with sales forecasting, pipeline management, and ensuring data integrity to support strategic decision-making.
- Gather and report on market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback from direct interactions.
- Liaise with product management, technical support, and logistics teams to resolve customer issues and ensure smooth order fulfilment.
- Attend sales meetings and contribute to strategic discussions.
- Collaborate with headquarters to streamline operational processes, including sample requests and forwarder organizations.

[1-3+] years of experience in sales support, technical support, or junior sales role, preferably within the heating sector.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferably Mechanical or Industrial).
- Fluency in Turkish and English is a must.
- Strong technical aptitude and ability to quickly learn about new products and technologies.
- Proactive, problem-solving mindset with a strong customer service orientation.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to establish long term relationship.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Team player, able to contribute to the team success, including headquarter people in Europe.
- Good proficiency in MS Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); knowledge of salesforce.com (SFDC) would be a plus.
- Ability to work independently. No obligation to travel; the person shall travel from time to time within the country and potentially also in Europe for training, etc.
- Residing in Istanbul.
