We are expanding our sales team and looking for a motivated, entry-level professional eager to launch a career in sales and business development.
Position Overview
As a Sales Development Representative (SDR), you will play a critical role in the early stages of our sales pipeline. This is an entry-level, high-activity position focused on identifying, contacting, and qualifying prospects in targeted industries such as security, loss prevention, asset protection, risk management, and insurance. Your primary goal will be to connect with the right decision-makers, gather key contact information, and set the stage for our sales team to continue the conversation.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct high-volume outbound cold-calling (100+ calls per day, 500+ per week) to targeted prospects.
- Research potential clients through LinkedIn, social media, industry publications, and CAP Index’s existing database.
- Qualify leads by identifying relevant contacts and decision-makers.
- Gather and maintain accurate contact details and company information in our CRM.
- Provide consistent reporting and metrics on call activity, pipeline growth, and prospect engagement.
- Learn and understand CAP Index’s products and value proposition well enough to answer basic questions and generate interest.
- Partner with the broader sales team to ensure qualified leads are passed along smoothly and meetings are set up.
- Demonstrate persistence and resilience—continuing to push forward despite objections or “no’s.”
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred (not required).
- Strong interest in sales, business development, or client-facing roles.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong phone presence with confidence to make high-volume outbound calls.
- Ability to research and synthesize information from multiple sources (LinkedIn, company websites, etc.).
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to track progress against daily/weekly goals.
- Resilient and self-motivated—comfortable handling rejection and continuing to press forward.
- Experience with CRM systems (e.g., HubSpot, Zoho, Salesforce) a plus.
- Prior internship or entry-level experience in sales, marketing, or customer service is helpful but not required.
