Sales Executive / Business Development Executive

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities in freight forwarding (air & sea – import/export)
  • Generate leads through market research, networking, and client visits.
  • . Build and maintain strong relationships with shippers, consignees, and corporate clients.
  • . Understand client requirements, trade routes, and cargo handling needs.
  • . Achieve assigned sales targets and contribute to overall revenue growth.
  • . Prepare and share competitive freight quotations and service proposals.
  • . Follow up on inquiries, quotations, and leads to ensure maximum conversion.
  • . Coordinate with operations and documentation teams for smooth shipment execution.
  • . Ensure accurate understanding of shipping documents (BL, invoice, packing list, etc.).
  • . Provide clients with updates regarding shipment status, delays, and delivery timelines.
  • . Handle client queries and resolve issues in coordination with relevant departments.
  • . Maintain strong coordination with international agents and partners (if required).
  • . Ensure timely recovery of payments in coordination with the accounts department.
  • . Keep proper records of sales activities, client interactions, and pipeline updates.
  • . Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and identify potential business opportunities.

Requirements:

  • · Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • · 3–4 years of sales experience, preferably in freight forwarding, logistics, or import/export industry.
  • · Strong understanding of air and sea freight operations, including import/export procedures.
  • · Knowledge of shipping documentation such as BL, invoice, packing list, and Incoterms.
  • · Ability to generate leads, develop business, and achieve assigned sales targets.
  • · Strong communication, negotiation, and client relationship management skills.
  • · Experience in handling shippers, consignees, and corporate clients effectively.
  • · Ability to coordinate with operations, documentation, and accounts teams.
  • · Strong follow-up and pipeline management skills for quotations and inquiries.
  • · Proficient in MS Office with ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
