Sales Intern

Position Summary:

The Sales Intern will support the team by learning to guide customers through the full sales process, including greeting, qualifying, presenting, and closing. The intern will enter leads into HubSpot and gain experience drafting contracts in HB1. They will also develop a foundational understanding of mortgage concepts, including how to calculate and present monthly payments.

The program will be in session from June 8 – July 31 and based in Dallas, TX.


Job Duties:

General Responsibilities:

  • Accurately enter, track, and maintain csutomer traffic, interactions, and detailed notes in HubSpot to ensure data integrity and effective follow-up.
  • Prepare, review, and complete contracts from start to finish within HB1, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company standards.
  • Conduct comprehensive mock model presentations, confidently guiding the experience from initial introduction through needs assessment, product presentation, and closing.
  • Participate in timely and professional customer follow-up through phone and email to nurture leads and supports the sales process.

Learning Opportunities:

  • Attend all sales rallies to gain exposure to team strategy, performance metrics, and broader organizational initiatives.
  • Participate in a structured shadowing experience with an Area Sales Manager to observe day-to-day operations, leadership approach, and effective sales practices.
  • Engage with the construction team to develop a comprehensive understanding of the homebuilding process, including key phases, timelines, and cross-functional collaboration.


Key Qualifications:

  • Exceptional presentation, communication, and sales-closing skills, with the ability to engage and influence customers effectively.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and consistent follow-through on tasks and responsibilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel, with the ability to quickly adapt to new software systems.
  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing challenges.


Special Projects:

Interns will actively participate in projects within their team and department, contributing to real business initiatives throughout the program. In addition, each intern will be responsible for completing a final project at the end of the internship, showcasing the skills, knowledge, and insights they have gained, as well as highlighting their contributions to the organization.


Compensation:

The hourly rate for this role is $18.00, with wages paid on a bi-weekly basis.

Physical Requirements:

This role requires the ability to sit, stand, walk (including uneven terrain), bend, reach, climb stairs, and lift or carry items up to 25 pounds. Candidates must have full-color vision, adequate hearing, and the ability to communicate clearly and type efficiently. Proficiency with computers, including the use of a keyboard and calculator, is essential.

Work is performed in both office and field settings. The primary environment is a sales office with a low to moderate noise level, involving extended computer use, paperwork, and phone communication. The secondary environment includes active construction sites, where conditions may involve moderate noise, heat, cold, and inclement weather.

The position also requires operating a motor vehicle, visiting jobsites regularly, and reading construction plans. Because the role involves frequent public contact, professional appearance and appropriate business attire are expected.
