Sales Manager- Industrial Automation

Key Responsibilities

1. Sales Strategy & Business Growth

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans aligned with company revenue and profitability goals
  • Identify new business opportunities across manufacturing, process industries, OEMs, and EPC contractors
  • Drive order intake, revenue growth, and margin improvement
  • Expand key accounts and establish long-term business partnerships
  • Lead forecasting, budgeting, and sales performance tracking

2. Key Account & Client Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with CXOs, Plant Heads, Technical Managers, and Procurement teams
  • Develop key account growth strategies and increase wallet share
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention
  • Handle escalations and maintain long-term strategic partnerships

3. Technical Solution Selling & Pre-Sales Leadership

  • Lead consultative and value-based solution selling initiatives
  • Understand complex customer automation requirements and propose optimized solutions
  • Guide the team in system architecture development including PLC, SCADA, HMI, VFD, Servo, Robotics, and Industrial Communication Systems
  • Support high-value tender submissions and technical bid clarifications
  • Conduct technical presentations, demos, and proof-of-concept discussions

4. Techno-Commercial Management & Negotiation

  • Oversee preparation of techno-commercial proposals and cost estimations
  • Review pricing strategies, margins, and financial viability
  • Lead commercial negotiations and contract finalization
  • Ensure contractual compliance and risk mitigation
  • Manage variation orders and scope changes effectively

5. Project Management & Execution

  • Oversee project lifecycle from order receipt to commissioning and handover
  • Coordinate with design, engineering, procurement, production, quality, and service teams
  • Monitor project timelines, deliverables, and budget adherence
  • Ensure successful FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) and SAT (Site Acceptance Test)
  • Manage customer communications throughout execution
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget

6. Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Lead and mentor sales engineers, application engineers, and project teams
  • Set KPIs and monitor team performance
  • Foster collaboration between sales, engineering, and operations
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives

7. Market Intelligence & Strategic Planning

  • Monitor industry trends, emerging automation technologies, and competitor activities
  • Identify new verticals, applications, and geographic expansion opportunities
  • Provide strategic inputs to management for business planning
  • Represent the company at trade shows, exhibitions, and technical seminars

8. CRM, Reporting & Performance Monitoring

  • Ensure accurate CRM data management and pipeline tracking
  • Review sales funnel health and conversion ratios
  • Prepare MIS reports on revenue, profitability, project status, and forecasts
  • Support annual budgeting and long-term strategic planning

9. After-Sales & Service Revenue Growth

  • Oversee post-installation support, troubleshooting, and warranty management
  • Promote AMC (Annual Maintenance Contracts) and lifecycle service solutions
  • Ensure high customer satisfaction and repeat business

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
