Sales Manager (Moden Trade)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales & Revenue Growth
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for modern trade channels.
  • Drive volume, value, and profitability in line with company goals.
  • Ensure timely placement of orders and effective execution of sales plans.
  • Key Account Management
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with category buyers and modern trade partners.
  • Negotiate listings, margins, promotions, and joint business plans (JBP).
  • Monitor competitor activities and ensure company’s strong presence in modern trade outlets.
  • Merchandising & Execution
  • Ensure product visibility, availability, and planogram compliance at store level.
  • Oversee execution of in-store branding, displays, activations, and promotional campaigns.
  • Conduct regular market visits to check implementation and gather insights.
  • Team Management
  • Guide, train, and supervise promoters/merchandisers at store level.
  • Monitor productivity and provide feedback for performance improvement.
  • Collaborate with distributors and supply chain team to ensure smooth operations.
  • Business Analysis & Reporting
  • Track and analyze sales trends, category performance, and ROI on promotions.
  • Prepare sales MIS, forecast, and periodic reports for management review.
  • Provide insights and recommendations for strategy formulation.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong negotiation and relationship management skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of modern trade dynamics, operations, and business processes.
  • Analytical mindset with ability to interpret data and market trends.
  • Leadership skills to manage field teams and cross-functional coordination.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Graduate / MBA in Sales & Marketing (preferred).
  • 5–8 years of relevant experience in FMCG / Consumer Durables / Retail industries.
  • Proven track record in handling key modern trade accounts (Big Bazaar, Reliance, DMart, Amazon, Flipkart, etc.).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹100,000.00 per month
