Description
Objective
This position will be responsible for generating revenue and market share for product support parts and services for standby generators, industrial powered equipment, and marine power.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Increase revenue and profit for parts and services for the Power Systems department through various channels (i.e. phone, email, direct mail campaigns and etc.)
- Maintain and update activities in customer relationship management (CRM) software accurately and efficiently
- Generate new leads and accounts through a variety of sales-related activities (customer calls, mailing, promotional campaigns)
- Maintain accurate customer data, machine population information, and qualified accounts within appropriate software to ensure promotions are targeted to specific customers
- Develop and maintains relationships with established and new customers in order to determine individual customer needs and provide solutions to meet them
- Promote of all aspects of the dealership including parts, service, labor, customer service agreements and machine and engine sales leads
- Construct and communicate proposals both internally and externally; identifying the entire scope of work to be performed, price/quote, turnaround for new incremental business, and shop/field repairs when requested
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- No formal responsibility for supervising others
Position Requirements
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2 years or more of experience in Sales or a technical related field
Preferred:
- Associates Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in business or a technical related field
- 4 years or more of experience in sales
- DPC courses (Engine, Generators, CSAs, and ESCs)

- Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of Caterpillar and competitor’s products
- The ability to work overtime and be on-call as needed, including weekends
- Excellent creative thinking skills; good decision-making skills and basic goal setting skills
- Excellent problem solving skills and a strong ability to apply policies, procedures, guidelines and laws
- Good interpersonal skills, including influence, negotiation, coaching and counseling
- Ability to work outside the standard 8:00am to 5:00pm when required
