About Kabod Coffee

Kabod Coffee Roasters is a vertically integrated Ethiopian coffee importer, roaster, and retailer. We source directly from five major Ethiopian growing regions — Sidamo, Yirgacheffe, Harar, Jimma, and Wollega — import our own green beans into the U.S., and roast 100% in-house in small batches at our Denver facility.

We control the entire supply chain — from origin relationships to final cup — serving retail customers, supermarkets, cafés, hospitality groups, and commercial roasters.

We are expanding our retail sales footprint and wholesale operations and are seeking a driven Sales Representative to lead that growth.

Position Overview

This is a territory-based sales role focused on expanding:

  • Local supermarket and grocery chain placements
  • Independent specialty markets and gourmet retailers
  • Retail coffee shop and café partnerships
  • Roasted wholesale accounts
  • Green coffee wholesale sales to independent roasters
  • Hospitality and food service partnerships

You will be responsible for opening new retail accounts, securing shelf space, building store-level relationships, and growing wholesale volume.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prospect and secure placement in local supermarkets and regional grocery chains
  • Present product line to category buyers and store managers
  • Negotiate pricing, margins, and promotional programs
  • Coordinate in-store tastings and sampling activations
  • Develop relationships with independent retailers and specialty food markets
  • Close roasted wholesale accounts (cafés, restaurants, hospitality groups)
  • Develop green coffee relationships with commercial and independent roasters
  • Manage and grow existing accounts
  • Maintain CRM and weekly sales reporting
  • Represent Kabod Coffee at trade shows and industry events

What We’re Looking For

  • 2+ years of B2B sales experience (coffee, CPG, grocery, beverage, or food distribution preferred)
  • Experience selling into supermarkets or retail chains strongly preferred
  • Understanding of grocery buyer cycles, margins, and shelf placement strategy
  • Strong relationship builder with consultative selling skills
  • Comfortable prospecting and opening new accounts
  • Organized, self-motivated, and performance-driven
  • Ability to travel regionally

Bonus:

  • Specialty coffee industry experience
  • Existing relationships with grocery buyers or distributors
  • Green coffee knowledge or trading experience

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $52,788.22 - $63,572.91 per year
