Sales Supervisor

The Role
A Sales Supervisor is responsible for leading and managing a team of sales staff to ensure they meet sales targets and deliver exceptional customer service. This role involves coaching, training, and motivating employees, overseeing daily sales operations, and implementing effective sales strategies. Responsibilities vary slightly between retail and non-retail settings, but the core focus remains on team performance and customer satisfaction. Main Duties: 1. Team Management: Supervise, coach, and motivate the sales team. 2. Sales Targets: Ensure achievement of individual and team sales goals. 3. Customer Service: Oversee and enhance customer experience. 4. Operational Oversight: Manage inventory, merchandising, and daily sales floor operations. 5. Training & Development: Onboard new staff and facilitate ongoing skill development. 6. Performance Monitoring: Track KPIs, give feedback, and improve sales outcomes. 7. Budgeting: Occasionally involved in cost control and budgeting activities. 8. Retail: Coordinate sales staff, visual merchandising, cashier operations, and store presentation. 9. Non-Retail (e.g., wholesale, call centres): Focus on sales planning, team coordination, and customer issue resolution. 10. Conduct team meetings and training sessions. 11. Provide individual feedback and coaching. 12. Analyse sales data to identify trends and opportunities. 13. Resolve customer complaints and support purchase decisions. 14. Maintain a well-organized and stocked sales environment. Job Requirements: 1. Leadership and Team Management: Strong leadership skills, including the ability to motivate, coach, and mentor a sales team. 2. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are crucial for communicating with team members, customers, and other stakeholders. 3. Sales Skills: Deep understanding of sales processes, strategies, and techniques. 4. Customer Focus: Strong customer service skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with customers. 5. Analytical Skills: Ability to analyse sales data, assess team performance, and make data-driven decisions. 6. Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and solve problems that may arise in the sales process. 7. Goal-Oriented: A track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets. 8. Adaptability: Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic environment. 9. Interpersonal Skills: Strong ability to build rapport and work effectively with others.

Requirements
1. Bachelors degree in Business, Sales & Marketing, or a related field is preferred. 2. 3-5 years’ of experience in sales including some supervisory or leadership experience. 3. Excellent communication skills 4. Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills.
