Sales/Lighting Specialist/Designer

Job Summary
We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Sales Associate to join our design team. You will work alongside two seasoned lighting designers, assisting walk-in clients with lighting selections, providing personalized recommendations, and offering design insights. In addition, you will have the chance to learn from industry experts, focusing on the integration of lighting as a key element in overall design. This role requires excellent communication skills, a keen eye for design and a desire to learn the lighting industry.

No previous experience in the lighting industry is required. Design background is preferred. In-house training will be provided in all aspects of our company and an opportunity for advancement into design position, while learning new skills. A positive attitude, an eye for design and a willingness to learn are essential. Applicants should be creative, self-motivated, organized and detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Customer Interaction: Greet and engage with walk-in clients, helping them select lighting products that align with their style and functional needs.
• Product Expertise: Provide expert guidance on our product range, helping customers understand the features and benefits of different lighting options. Conduct product demonstrations to showcase lighting solutions to clients.
• Design Support: Assist with lighting layouts and offer design recommendations in collaboration with our lighting designers, enhancing the overall customer experience.
• Showroom Maintenance: Ensure the showroom is organized and visually appealing.
• Sales Goals: Meet or exceed sales targets while fostering positive, long-term relationships with clients.

Requirements

• Proven experience in design or a related field is preferred.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for effective collaboration with clients and team members.
• Familiarity with retail sales practices and customer service excellence is required.

Qualifications:

• Degree in Interior Design or a related field is preferred.
• Passion for Design: A strong interest in interior design, particularly lighting, with a desire to grow in the field.
• Customer Service Experience: Previous retail or customer-facing experience is highly desirable.
• Technical Aptitude: Ability to quickly learn product specifications and lighting technologies.
• Social Media & Digital Skills: Experience with social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, etc.) and website management (Shopify) is a plus.
• Excellent Communication: Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with diverse customers and collaborate with team members.
• Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Team Player: Ability to work closely with a small, tight-knit team of designers

Base Pay: $47,000.00 - $57,000.00 per year
