Manage the overall function of sample development for 3 Brands W, Wishful and Folksong
Streamline the current workflow and build systems to optimise the workload aligned to the organisational T&A requirements.
Understand the requirements of the development from designers and accurately get the developments executed in the sampling unit
Accountability to ensure smooth functioning of the sampling unit and manage the workforce (Tailors, embroiders, pattern masters, and helpers) to ensure the best productivity of the unit
Reduce wastage of resources and infrastructure and best utilise them to drive efficiency
Implement innovative ways to set new standards in quality and speed of development
Generate daily productivity reports and share with the Head of Design on a daily basis
Ensure samples developed are technically correct and also propose solutions and suggestions to improve production friendly development of every prototype
Ensure every sample that is developed is quality checked and then handed over to the designer
Knowledge and skill set
Good understanding of women’s wear (preferably designer wear garments)
Strong understanding of garment construction for different fabric types, including knowledge of technical details of garment manufacturing and production.
Good communication skills and team work.
Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment, with attention to detail and accuracy
Have High people management skills to ensure smooth functioning
Must be a quick learner who can adapt to the needs of the different Brands
Must be good with MS Office and Process workflow management documentation and reporting
Education
Graduate / Diploma in Garment manufacturing technology and with knowledge of Pattern making and Quality Control of Garments as per Industry standards
Experience
10 + years of experience in managing a large sampling unit in the Export or with Designers or Retail industry (Womenswear / Designer wear Background would be preferred) with pattern making knowledge
Must have prior experience of managing a team size of at least 30-40 staff members across Tailors, Pattern Masters, Embroiders and Technical assistants.
