Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled SAP Basis Specialist to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining SAP systems, ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to support enterprise applications and infrastructure, leveraging expertise in system architecture, cloud security, and system administration. The SAP Basis Specialist will play a critical role in implementing best practices for system design, integration, and security compliance within a dynamic IT environment.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and upgrade SAP systems, including SAP NetWeaver and associated components
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues related to SAP BASIS, operating systems, and network connectivity
• Manage SAP system landscapes across on-premises and cloud environments such as AWS and Azure
• Implement system hardening procedures to enhance security posture and ensure compliance with organizational standards
• Perform database administration tasks for SAP databases including Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and NoSQL solutions
• Coordinate with development teams to support solution architecture involving microservices, RESTful APIs, SOAP web services, and DevOps practices
• Manage system backups, disaster recovery plans, and perform vulnerability assessments to mitigate risks
• Automate routine tasks using scripting languages such as Bash Shell Scripting, PowerShell, or Python
• Maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides in accordance with SDLC best practices
• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to implement network security measures including VPNs, firewalls, load balancing solutions, and threat intelligence integration
• Support virtualization technologies such as VMware ESXi and Hyper-V to optimize resource utilization

Skills

• Extensive experience with SAP BASIS administration including system installation, configuration, upgrades, and performance tuning
• Strong understanding of service-oriented architecture (SOA), solution architecture, and system design principles
• Proficiency in operating systems including Windows Server and Linux distributions (Ubuntu, Red Hat)
• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure for deploying scalable SAP environments
• Familiarity with container orchestration tools like Kubernetes and Docker for microservices deployment
• Expertise in database management systems: Oracle PL/SQL, T-SQL (Microsoft SQL Server), PostgreSQL, MySQL; experience with NoSQL databases is a plus
• Hands-on experience with virtualization (VMware ESXi), continuous integration tools like Jenkins, Git version control systems
• Understanding of network protocols including DNS, DHCP; experience with VPNs and firewall configurations for secure connectivity
• Knowledge of security best practices including system hardening, vulnerability management/assessment, threat intelligence integration
• Familiarity with modern development methodologies such as Agile SDLC processes and DevOps pipelines involving CI/CD workflows
• Programming skills in JavaScript, C#, Python; experience with scripting languages for automation tasks is desirable
• Experience working with APIs (RESTful API), web services (SOAP), GPO management; knowledge of WDS for deployment is advantageous
