SAP Fiori & UI5 Developer

Job Purpose

The SAP Fiori & UI5 Developer is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and supporting modern SAP user interfaces and enterprise applications using SAP Fiori, SAPUI5, and related SAP frontend technologies. The role focuses on delivering responsive, user-friendly, and scalable business applications integrated with SAP backend systems to improve user experience and business process efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

SAP Fiori Application Development

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain applications using SAP Fiori and SAPUI5 frameworks.
• Build responsive and user-centric interfaces aligned with SAP Fiori Design Guidelines.
• Develop custom Fiori applications and extend standard SAP applications based on business requirements.
• Configure and manage Fiori Launchpad catalogs, groups, and roles.

UI5 and Frontend Development

• Develop web applications using SAPUI5, HTML5, JavaScript, CSS, XML Views, and MVC architecture.
• Implement reusable UI components and frontend frameworks to improve maintainability and consistency.
• Optimize application performance and responsiveness across desktop and mobile devices.
• Ensure compatibility with modern browsers and enterprise standards.

Backend Integration and Data Services

• Integrate Fiori applications with SAP backend systems using OData Services and SAP Gateway.
• Collaborate with ABAP and integration teams to develop and consume APIs and backend services.
• Support data binding, model handling, and application navigation.
• Troubleshoot frontend and backend connectivity issues.

Testing, Deployment, and Support

• Conduct unit testing and support SIT, UAT, and production deployments.
• Monitor application performance and resolve defects and user issues.
• Manage transport requests and deployment activities across environments.
• Maintain technical documentation and development standards.

Collaboration and Continuous Improvement

• Work closely with functional consultants, business users, project managers, and technical teams.
• Translate business requirements into scalable and intuitive UI solutions.
• Participate in solution design workshops and technical reviews.
• Recommend UI/UX improvements and adoption of SAP best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
• SAP certifications in SAP Fiori Application Development or SAPUI5 are preferred.
• Additional certifications in frontend technologies are an advantage.

Experience

• 5–10 years of experience in SAP application development.
• Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience in SAP Fiori and SAPUI5 development.
• Experience working with SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA environments.
• Experience in enterprise or government digital transformation projects is preferred.
