Job Title: Sardine Superintendent
Location: Duqm
Job Description
To manage and lead the sardine canning operations, ensuring efficient production flow from raw fish reception to finished product dispatch. Responsible for meeting production targets, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring compliance with food safety, health, and environmental regulations. Provides leadership to production teams, optimizes resources, and ensures customer delivery commitments are amchieved.
· Oversee day‑to‑day sardine canning operations, ensuring production schedules are met.
· Monitor raw material input, yields, recoveries, and product formulation performance.
· Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation (OSHA 2005) and company risk assessments.
· Control labor and material costs, optimize overheads, and manage overtime levels.
· Liaise with planning and logistics to align raw material supply with production schedules.
· Drive quality assurance by adhering to QMP (HACCP) and customer specifications.
· Conduct daily production meetings with supervisors and team leaders.
· Train, coach, and develop staff through performance reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
· Monitor KPIs including production levels, yield optimization, OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), and line balancing.
· Support certification programs (BRC/IGFS, MarineTrust, ISO standards, Halal Management).
· Promote Lean Manufacturing principles (5S, visual management, waste elimination).
· Ensure continuous improvement culture across sardine production lines
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Engineering, or Management.
Experience : Minimum 5 years of production management experience in Tuna & sardine canning or related seafood processing.
· Technical familiarity with fillers, seamers, cookers, and retorting equipment
