Empirical Solutions is seeking an experienced Project Scheduler to provide specialist schedule management services across complex Defence and government programs.

This role is ideal for professionals with strong analytical skills, advanced scheduling expertise, and a commitment to delivering accuracy, transparency, and performance assurance through best-practice project controls. You will play a key part in ensuring that cost, risk, and schedule data are effectively integrated and communicated to enable informed decision-making across project teams.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Project Scheduler, you will:

• Develop and maintain Project and Contract Work Breakdown Structures (PWBS/CWBS) and supporting data dictionaries
• Build and manage master project schedules that accurately reflect project milestones, dependencies, and resource allocation
• Analyse project information and cost data to monitor and report on schedule progress and performance
• Implement and maintain Earned Value Performance Measurement (EVPM) techniques to provide actionable insights into project health
• Mentor and support project staff on schedule management best practices, tools, and reporting methodologies
• Provide schedule assurance and analytical insights to support program governance and review activities
• Ensure alignment of schedule management practices with relevant Australian and International Standards and Defence frameworks

What We're Looking For

We welcome applications from professionals who bring:

• Tertiary qualifications in Project Management, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience
• Recognised schedule management qualification (e.g. PMI-SP, AIPM, or equivalent)
• Strong proficiency with scheduling tools such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar software
• Proven experience in risk management and schedule performance analysis
• In-depth understanding of schedule management methodologies, practices, and standards
• Knowledge of Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) development principles, including DEF(AUST) 5664 or equivalent
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to provide clear, evidence-based advice to project stakeholders
• Current NV1 security clearance (mandatory)

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

You'll be highly regarded if you also bring:

• Experience in large-scale Defence, infrastructure, or engineering programs
• Strong understanding of integrated cost, risk, and schedule management frameworks
• Familiarity with Defence or government reporting requirements, assurance processes, and governance structures
