School Age Group Leader

Job Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated School Age Group Leader to inspire and support children in our after-school and extracurricular programs. In this role, you will create a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children of various ages, fostering their social, emotional, and developmental growth. Your energy and leadership will help children explore new activities, develop important skills, and build confidence while ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise school-age children during after-school hours, camps, or special programs, ensuring a fun and safe environment.
  • Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote learning, creativity, teamwork, and physical activity.
  • Manage classroom behavior through positive reinforcement strategies and effective behavior management techniques.
  • Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other staff to support each child's individual needs and development goals.
  • Maintain a clean, organized activity space that adheres to safety standards and licensing requirements.
  • Provide first aid or emergency assistance when necessary, following established protocols.
  • Support children with special education needs by adapting activities and providing inclusive care.

Requirements

  • Qualifying letter (background check)
  • DCDEE Status Letter( willing to obtain BSAC certification)
  • Proven experience working with children in settings such as daycare, camp, tutoring, or childcare environments.
  • Strong classroom management skills with the ability to foster positive behavior and engagement.
  • Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices.
  • Certification in first aid and CPR is highly preferred; willingness to obtain if not already certified.
  • Experience with behavior management techniques and working with children with diverse needs or special education requirements.
  • Ability to lead activities related to sports coaching, theater arts, or other enrichment programs is a plus.

Pay: $10.00 - $14.00 per hour
