Position Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic, nurturing, and dependable After-School Teacher to work with students in Kindergarten through 5th grade. The ideal candidate enjoys working with children, supports academic growth, and creates a safe, engaging, and structured environment during after-school hours.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of students at all times
Lead structured activities including homework support, arts & crafts, STEM projects, reading, games, and outdoor play
Foster positive relationships with students, families, and staff
Maintain a classroom environment that is organized, inclusive, and supportive
Implement behavior management strategies aligned with school/program policies
Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and behavior
Assist with snack distribution and clean-up
Follow all licensing, health, and safety regulations
Qualifications
High school diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Education, Child Development, or related field preferred
Experience working with children (teaching, tutoring, camp counseling, or childcare) preferred
Strong classroom management and organizational skills
Positive attitude, patience, and enthusiasm
Ability to work collaboratively with staff and families
CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
Preferred Skills
Knowledge of elementary academic standards
Experience supporting diverse learners
Creativity in lesson and activity planning
