Key ResponsibilitiesA. Psychology Teaching Responsibilities (HSC Level)1. Curriculum Delivery
- Teach Psychology to HSC students according to the prescribed board syllabus (State Board / CBSE / ISC or relevant authority).
- Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, and practical activities.
- Explain psychological theories, research methods, cognitive processes, personality, intelligence, mental health, and disorders.
- Conduct practical sessions and guide students in project work.
2. Assessment & Evaluation
- Prepare question papers, assignments, and internal assessments.
- Conduct periodic tests, practical exams, and pre-board examinations.
- Evaluate answer scripts and maintain academic records.
- Provide feedback and remedial support to students.
3. Academic Mentoring
- Guide students in career paths related to psychology and allied fields.
- Support students preparing for competitive exams.
- Encourage research-based learning and critical thinking.
B. School Counsellor Responsibilities1. Student Counselling & Mental Health Support
- Provide individual and group counselling sessions.
- Address emotional, behavioral, academic, and social concerns.
- Support students dealing with stress, anxiety, peer pressure, exam stress, and family issues.
- Maintain confidentiality and ethical counselling standards.
2. Career Guidance
- Conduct career guidance sessions for HSC students.
- Assist students in selecting higher education courses and career paths.
- Organize career workshops, aptitude assessments, and seminars.
3. Crisis Intervention
- Identify students at risk and provide appropriate intervention.
- Coordinate with parents, teachers, and external professionals when necessary.
- Develop preventive mental health awareness programs.
4. Parent & Teacher Collaboration
- Conduct parent counselling sessions when required.
- Work with teachers to identify students needing psychological support.
- Participate in Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs).
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Psychology (M.A./M.Sc. Psychology).
- B.Ed. (mandatory for teaching role as per board norms).
- Diploma/Certification in School Counselling (preferred).
- 1–3 years of relevant experience preferred.
