Role Overview

The successful candidate will play a central role in promoting emotional wellbeing and resilience within the school community. The post holder will be an integral part of the pastoral and safeguarding teams, working collaboratively to ensure the highest standards of care and support.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to proactive wellbeing and mental health initiatives
• Provide one to one and group counselling to pupils as appropriate
• Support inclusive education through culturally responsive and trauma informed practice
• Deliver emotional coaching and promote social emotional learning
• Work closely with staff, parents, and senior leaders to enhance whole school wellbeing provision

Requirements

• Experience working as a School Counsellor
• Training or qualifications in areas such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Youth Mental Health First Aid, and Trauma Informed Practice
• Strong working knowledge of Child Protection, Restorative Practices, Functional Behaviour Assessment, and Positive Behaviour for Learning
• A genuine commitment to the values of care, respect, and inclusion that underpin an outstanding independent education
