Position Title: School Counselor

Location: Monaco Success Academy

Reports To: Director

Position Overview

Monaco Success Academy is seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Counselor to support students with behavioral and social-emotional needs of students in a private school setting. This role focuses on helping students build emotional regulation, coping strategies, and social skills while collaborating closely with clinical and educational staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide individual and small group counseling focused on social-emotional learning and behavior support
• Support students in developing self-regulation, coping strategies, and appropriate communication skills
• Build strong relationships with students, families, and staff to support student success
• Provide staff support and guidance on social-emotional and behavioral strategies when needed

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in School Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or related field
• Valid state licensure/certification as a School Counselor (or eligible)
• Experience working with students with behavioral challenges, autism, or emotional disabilities preferred
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Skills

• Experience in an alternative or therapeutic school setting
• Knowledge of Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and data collection methods
• Training in crisis intervention (e.g., CPI, Safety-Care, or similar)
• Familiarity with IEP processes and special education services
• Ability to remain calm, patient, and flexible in high-needs environments

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
