Join Horizon Science Academy Belmont as a School Custodian in 4434 N Laramie Avenue, Chicago IL 60630. In this vital role, you will help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our students and staff, supporting our mission of educational excellence.
Responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning and sanitation of classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas.
• Maintain floors through sweeping, mopping, buffing, and other floor care techniques.
• Handle janitorial tasks such as trash removal and restocking supplies.
• Conduct minor repairs and maintenance to ensure facilities are in optimal condition.
• Operate cleaning equipment safely and efficiently.
• Collaborate with staff to address specific custodial needs.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Assist with setup for school events as needed.
• Qualifications
• Proven janitorial or custodial experience in a school or commercial setting.
• Strong knowledge of cleaning procedures and equipment.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills.
• Prior experience with floor buffing or industrial cleaning is preferred.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $21.79 - $23.45 per hour

Expected hours: 5.0 per week
