School Custodian RW3

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic School Custodian RW3 to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. In this vital role, you will be responsible for performing a variety of custodial and maintenance tasks to ensure the school facilities are well-kept and operational. Your proactive approach will contribute to a positive learning environment by providing exceptional cleaning services and facility upkeep.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough cleaning of classrooms, hallways, restrooms, cafeterias, gyms, and other school areas using commercial cleaning equipment and supplies
• Conduct floor care activities such as sweeping, mopping, buffing, stripping, waxing, and polishing to maintain pristine surfaces
• Handle janitorial duties including trash removal, dusting, window cleaning, and restocking supplies to uphold hygiene standards
• Assist with basic maintenance tasks such as minor repairs, painting (including residential painting techniques), and facility inspections to identify issues early
• Operate industrial cleaning tools safely and efficiently to ensure high-quality cleanliness across all areas
• Support facilities maintenance by reporting repairs needed for lighting, plumbing, or structural concerns promptly
• Maintain cleanliness logs and safety records in accordance with school policies

Requirements

• Proven experience in custodial work or janitorial services within commercial or residential settings
• Knowledge of cleaning procedures, floor care techniques including buffing and stripping floors
• Experience with industrial cleaning equipment and commercial cleaning products
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting heavy objects, standing for extended periods, and bending frequently
• Strong attention to detail combined with excellent organizational skills
• Familiarity with facilities maintenance practices including basic repairs and painting (residential or industrial) preferred
• Good communication skills to coordinate with staff and report maintenance issues effectively

Pay: $17.95 - $21.45 per hour
