POSITION GOAL: Through an internship with Chester Charter Scholars Academy,
the School Psychologist Intern will gain experience in providing psychoeducational
services to enable students to derive the fullest possible educational experience
from school. Training experiences will meet the minimum 1,200-hour
requirements set forth by the Pennsylvania Department of Education and NASP for
certification at the state and national levels, along with meeting the intern’s
training program requirements. Additional hours are possible to meet required
training hours for predoctoral interns. Chester Charter Scholars Academy is a K-12
Local Educational Agency.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Other duties may be assigned.
The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to the following
fundamental duties:
● Actively participate in weekly supervision sessions
● Conduct comprehensive initial evaluations to aid in the identification and
development of educational services for students within a timely manner.
● Conduct reevaluations of students as per standards and regulations
● Select and administer a range of psycho-educational assessments,
curriculum-based assessments, and functional behavior assessments (FBAs)
for the educational planning and development of appropriate individualized
educational programs
● Present and discuss evaluation findings with parents and team members.
● Complete classroom observations as needed
● Provide informal behavioral consultation services
● Conduct counseling and behavior management sessions (individual and/or
group)
● Maintains case records on all referred students
● Recommend and utilize community resources in the facilitation of services
for students
● Attends meetings in conjunction with assignments
● Keeps abreast of new developments in the field
● Performs other duties as assigned by the Student Support Services
Coordinator, Supervising Psychologist, or CEO. This job description does not

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS:
● Enrolled in an accredited school psychology graduate program and working
towards Pennsylvania state certification and/or Nationally Certified School
Psychologist credential.
● Completion of all pre-internship coursework as per graduate training
program requirements.
● Experience working with students with disabilities and youth considered at-
risk.
● Ability to travel to Chester Charter Scholars Academy
● Strong verbal, written, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
● Ability to organize and prioritize work and to meet deadlines.
● Ability to multi-task and take initiative.
● Ability to take direction from supervisors and accept feedback.
TERM OF INTERNSHIP: The internship is full-time and will coincide with the Chester
Charter Scholars Academy 2026-2027 academic calendar. Interns will follow the
work schedule of professional employees of the district, unless otherwise agreed
to in writing by the intern and the district.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
● Applicants whose primary residence is in the Commonwealth of
Pennsylvania and is attending a PDE-approved training program may be
eligible to participate in the PA Helps program and may receive a stipend of
$20,000.
● An intern whose residency is in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, another
state, or country may be eligible to participate in the Attract, Prepare, and
Retain program and may receive $20,000. An in-state resident must be
attending an out-of-state training program to be considered for this grant
program.
