Science Laboratory Technician

Position Purpose

The Laboratory Technician serves as a technical expert supporting the Science, ICT, and LEGO laboratories and classroom systems. This role oversees the coordination, use, and development of practical resources and facilities to ensure smooth operations and effective learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct support in the preparation of all lessons taking place in Science, ICT, and LEGO laboratories and classrooms.
• Be available in laboratories and prep rooms to assist teaching staff.
• Support classroom delivery, as required.
• Manage laboratories by ensuring equipment, tools, chemicals, and materials are adequately stocked and maintained.
• Liaise with academic staff regarding timetables, equipment needs, and lesson plans.
• Conduct trials of experiments, demonstrate techniques, and ensure safe laboratory practices.
• Set up, check, and issue laboratory equipment and apparatus for practical lessons.
• Retrieve, clean, and properly store equipment after use.
• Maintain and repair laboratory instruments and LEGO apparatus.
• Keep accurate records of equipment servicing, stock levels, and student practical sessions.
• Provide technical advice and support to teachers and students, including assistance with projects and extracurricular activities.
• Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed at all times.
• Coordinate efficient use of high-value laboratory resources.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Science or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
• Experience with the US Common Core curriculum is an advantage.
• Fluent in English with excellent communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a multicultural environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED3,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Abu Dhabi: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
