Basic Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree or higher.
  • Licensure: High School Science Teacher Certification required.
  • Experience: Seeking candidates that desire a classroom teaching experience. Recent graduates may apply
  • Instructing: AP Physics, Chemistry, and/or Integrated Chemistry-Physics courses.


Responsibilities

  • Focus on student learning to help prepare students for post high school education, Christian vocation and lifelong learning and service as disciples of Jesus Christ.
  • Teach the curricula established by the school. Develop and maintain Rubicon Atlas curriculum maps.
  • Stay current in both educational content and methodology through a coordinated program of professional development utilizing the professional learning community model.
  • Make spiritual growth for self and students a priority and regular part of each day.
  • Participate collaboratively in faculty, department and professional learning community meetings and activities.
  • Communicate with students and parents on a regular basis about student achievement.
  • Commit and contribute to the school community - play an active, positive and supportive role in addressing the needs of the whole child and the ethos of Concordia beyond the classroom, including leadership in co-curricular activities during the year.
  • Ensure that personal professional goals are established and completed each year.
  • On regular school days, teachers are on duty between 7:45 AM and 3:45 PM, not inclusive of activities and meetings.
  • Undertake additional duties that may reasonably be assigned or requested by the Supervisor.
  • Exercise flexibility in teaching methodology and pedagogy to instruct and support students in a variety of learning environments, including brick and mortar, virtual, and digital classroom.
