Job Purpose:
The Science Teacher (Middle Section) is responsible for teaching general science subjects to students in Grades 6–8. The role focuses on developing a strong foundation in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, while encouraging curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills in line with the school’s curriculum.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging science lessons aligned with the middle school curriculum.
- Teach core science topics in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Environmental Science at an introductory level.
- Design and conduct simple experiments, demonstrations, and hands-on activities to enhance learning.
- Develop lesson plans, worksheets, and assignments suitable for middle-grade learners.
- Assess student progress through quizzes, projects, class participation, and examinations.
- Encourage inquiry-based learning and the application of scientific concepts in daily life.
- Create a positive, interactive, and disciplined classroom environment.
- Integrate multimedia tools, models, and visual aids to simplify complex concepts.
- Provide academic support to students who need extra help.
- Prepare students for science fairs, exhibitions, and competitions.
- Collaborate with colleagues to improve teaching strategies and curriculum delivery.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and share progress with parents/guardians.
- Ensure the safe use of science materials, tools, and lab equipment.
- Stay updated with new teaching methodologies, curriculum changes, and educational practices.
- Participate in faculty meetings, workshops, and professional development activities.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, or General Science) with B.Ed./M.Ed. preferred.
- At least 2–3 years of teaching experience at middle school level.
- Strong subject knowledge and ability to simplify concepts for young learners.
- Good communication, presentation, and classroom management skills.
- Familiarity with digital learning tools and modern teaching methods.
