Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Scientist I to support a life science company’s Monograph and Specialty Lab teams. This role involves advanced analytical testing, method development, and custom investigations across a wide array of instrumentation. You will contribute to high-impact studies including unknown material identification, failure analysis, and product development.

Responsibilities include:

• Design and perform complex testing using chromatography, spectroscopy, and wet chemistry
• Develop and validate analytical methods and document transfers
• Interpret and peer review data, issue client reports, and assist in quote generation
• Collaborate with clients and internal teams to meet testing expectations
• Maintain traceability of chemicals, reagents, and controlled documents
• Support quality system improvements and internal audits
• Participate in legal and insurance investigations under guidance
• Stay current on analytical techniques through training and industry engagement

Required Skills & Experience

• MS or PhD in Chemistry or related field, or BS with 2+ years in a commercial lab
• Proficiency in analytical instrumentation: GC, GCMS, HPLC, LCMS
• Experience with wet chemistry techniques: gravimetry, titrimetry, colorimetry
• Familiarity with advanced instrumentation: FTIR, ICP-OES, ICP-MS, AA, IC, NMR, LECO N2, calorimetry, DSC, TGA, DMA
• Strong documentation and data interpretation skills
• Ability to design and execute custom experiments and method development
• Experience with LIMS and quality control systems
• Excellent communication and peer review capabilities
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced lab environment

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Experience as an Expert Witness in legal or insurance cases
• Familiarity with regulatory standards (USP, FCC, EP, JP, ACS)
• Exposure to client-facing roles or quote generation
• Participation in industry symposia or publication of white papers
