Job Summary: PITANGO GELATO & COFFEE

We are seeking a dedicated Scooper to join our team at the Pitango Gelato & Coffee in Old Town Alexandria. Cultivate your skill set in serving and explaining our gelatos and sorbets. Deliver exceptional hospitality to ensure a memorable guest experience. The Scooper will be responsible for serving customers by preparing and scooping and explaining our gelatos and sorbets, maintaining a clean work environment, and providing excellent customer service.

Duties:

• You'll be reporting to your shift leaders and manager(s) directly.
• You'll be able to handle the pressure when things get busy or when there's a line of customers.
• You'll be able to multi-task and take care of different parts of the store when needed.
• You'll restock the customer area, serving area, and back of the house as needed, especially during shift changes.
• You'll be cleaning the service and customer areas throughout your shift and at the end of the day.
• You'll be able to tell our customers all about where our products come from and how great they are.
• You might have to open or close the store sometimes, which could mean working early and/or late.
• We'll need you to be available for shifts on the weekends.
• You'll be a Pitango Gelato ambassador at all times, making sure our standards are met at all locations.
• You'll be a certified scooper, serving up consistently delicious gelato and sorbet to our customers.
• You can chat with customers about our gelato and where it's from, and make sure they have a great experience every time.

Qualifications:

Experience may influence your compensation but is not an absolute requirement

• Must be personable and engaging in interactions with customers
• Must be capable of meeting the demands of a physically intensive position, which includes lifting, standing for prolonged periods, and reaching for items in the refrigerated case
• Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds
• Must possess reliable transportation to and from the workplace
• Must be punctual in fulfilling work-related obligations
• Must adhere to the established dress code, which includes headwear and refraining from wearing polished nails
• Must have positive references from previous employers

Pay: $13.00 - $14.00 per hour, plus tips
