Key Responsibilities
- Research current trends, viral content, audience interests, and platform algorithms to generate script ideas.
- Brainstorm, pitch, and develop script hooks that immediately capture viewer interest (first 3-5 seconds).
- Write scripts for short-form video content (15-60 seconds), also storyboards or shot lists if needed.
- Adapt scripts for different platforms (YouTube Shorts, Reels, TikTok), adjusting pacing, tone, length, and style accordingly.
- Collaborate with editors, creatives, production team to align visuals & narrative.
- Revise scripts based on feedback from strategy, content and creative leads.
- Ensure content aligns with brand voice, messaging, values.
- Incorporate calls to action, engagement boosters (questions, challenges, etc.).
- Maintain script quality and deadlines even in fast-turnaround contexts.
- Optionally, monitor performance metrics (views, retention, comments) and gather insights to inform future script ideas.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- At least 1 year of proven experience writing scripts (short-form video preferred).
- Strong storytelling instincts; ability to write tight, punchy, engaging content.
- Clear, concise writing: excellent command of language, grammar, tone.
- Trend awareness: ability to spot and leverage social media trends.
- Flexibility: can switch tone/style depending on topic and platform.
- Good collaboration & communication skills: work with editors, creatives, strategists.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and produce multiple scripts per week.
- Creative thinking: generating fresh ideas, twists, hooks.
