Position Title: In-House Script Writer (Documentary & Educational Content)
Location: Indore, Madhya Pradesh
Reports To: Content Director / Channel Manager

Position Overview

We are hiring a talented and creative Script Writer to join our content production team. You will be responsible for crafting compelling, engaging, and well-researched scripts for long-form YouTube videos and documentary-style content that educate, inform, and entertain audiences. As a Script Writer, you will work closely with our channel managers, video editors, and production team to develop narratives that align with our brand voice while maintaining the highest quality standards. This is an in-office role requiring daily presence in our Indore facility.hiring.

Key Responsibilities

Content Research & Development

• Conduct thorough research on assigned topics using credible sources, academic databases, and primary research to ensure accuracy and provide unique perspectives
• Stay updated with trending topics, news, and audience interests across YouTube, Reddit, Twitter, and relevant platforms
• Develop original content ideas and concepts aligned with channel strategy and audience interests
• Create compelling storylines and narrative structures that engage viewers from the opening seconds

Script Writing & Development

• Write engaging, informative, and well-structured scripts tailored to YouTube format (long-form videos, Shorts, documentaries)
• Craft attention-grabbing hooks and compelling opening segments that encourage viewers to keep watching
• Develop scripts optimized for viewer retention, engagement, and call-to-action placements
• Write clear dialogue, voiceover segments, and reflective narrative text that maintains cinematic quality
• Structure content into clear acts/scenes for optimal narrative flow and pacing
• Ensure all scripts are grammatically flawless and free from factual errors

Optimization & Collaboration​

• Optimize scripts for SEO relevance, ensuring proper keyword placement for improved searchability and ranking
• Collaborate with channel managers, directors, and editors to understand project vision and requirements
• Work with the video editing team to ensure visual direction aligns with script storytelling
• Incorporate feedback from team members and revise scripts accordingly (typically 2-3 rounds of revision)
• Maintain consistent brand voice, tone, and style across all scripts
• Ensure scripts comply with YouTube policies, copyright guidelines, and ethical standards

Content Strategy & Analysis

• Analyze high-performing competitor scripts and content to identify storytelling best practices
• Suggest visual elements, B-roll opportunities, and clip placements to enhance narrative impact
• Meet strict deadlines consistently while maintaining high-quality standards
• Track script performance post-publication to inform future writing strategies

Required Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Creative Writing, Film, or related field (Preferred)
• OR equivalent proven professional experience in scriptwriting, content creation, or journalism

Experience

• Minimum 1-2 years of professional scriptwriting or content creation experience
• Proven track record writing scripts for YouTube videos, documentaries, or educational content
• Strong portfolio with 3-5 writing samples showcasing engaging, research-backed content
• Demonstrated ability to write for video/multimedia formats

Core Skills

• Creative Writing: Expert-level storytelling ability; strong command of narrative structure
• Research Skills: Ability to research thoroughly, fact-check, and synthesize complex information
• SEO Knowledge: Understanding of video SEO, keyword optimization, and search ranking strategies
• Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal skills; comfortable receiving and implementing feedback
• Time Management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
• Attention to Detail: Meticulous proofreading and editing skills; zero tolerance for errors
• Adaptability: Ability to write in different styles, tones, and formats based on requirements

Preferred Skills

• Proficiency with AI research tools: ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity
• Familiarity with YouTube Studio, analytics tools, and algorithm trends
• Experience writing documentary or non-fiction content
• Knowledge of video production and editing processes
• Hindi language fluency (highly valued for Indian content creation)
• Experience with Google Workspace, Google Docs collaboration
• Basic understanding of thumbnail/title optimization principles

Compensation & Work Structure

Pay Structure:

• Competitive Salary: ₹12,000 – ₹25,000 per month (based on experience and performance)
• OR Performance-Based: ₹3,000 – ₹8,000 per script (depending on script length/complexity)
• Performance bonuses based on content performance metrics and viewer engagement

Work Arrangement:

• Full-time, in-office position (Indore, Madhya Pradesh)
• Monday – Friday, Standard business hours + occasional weekend work during production peaks
