Role Overview
We are looking for a full-time, research-led scriptwriter who can craft deep, compelling
long-form video scripts grounded in facts and elevated by powerful storytelling.
This role is not about quick listicles or surface-level explainers. You will work on stories that
require original research, synthesis of complex ideas, field-level understanding, and
cinematic narrative arcs.
If you enjoy going down rabbit holes, connecting dots others miss, and writing scripts that move
people while informing them — this role is for you.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently research complex real-world issues, systems, and solutions using
credible primary and secondary sources
- Develop long-form video scripts (10–25 minutes) with strong narrative flow, clarity, and
emotional depth
- Translate dense research into accessible, engaging, human-centered storytelling
- Work closely with editors, producers, and visual teams to ensure scripts are visual-first
and platform-native
- Fact-check rigorously and maintain high editorial standards and credibility
- Continuously refine scripts based on feedback while protecting the core narrative vision
- Stay updated on global and Indian developments related to sustainability, social
innovation, policy, and culture
What We’re Looking For
Must-Have
- 2+ years of proven experience writing long-form scripts, documentaries, or
investigative/explainer content
- Demonstrable experience in deep research and synthesis (journalism, documentary,
policy research, or equivalent)
- Ability to write structured, engaging scripts that hold attention for 15–25 minutes
- Strong command over English with a clear, confident narrative voice
- Evidence of work that balances facts + storytelling (links required)
Good to Have
- Background in journalism, documentary filmmaking, public policy, sustainability, or social
impact storytelling
- Experience writing for YouTube or digital video platforms
- Familiarity with Indian socio-economic, environmental, or cultural contexts
- Ability to think visually while writing
What Will Make You Stand Out
- You’ve written scripts people still remember
- You can turn a complex system into a story without dumbing it down
- Your research notes are as strong as your final scripts
- You are opinionated, curious, and allergic to shallow narratives
