The Court Liaison assists and advocates for adults living with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorder who are involved with the criminal justice system. They increase coordination and collaboration between the criminal justice and mental health systems, improve access to mental health and substance use services, and enhance continuity of care. Additionally, the court liaison assists individuals with court-mandated/recommended treatment, acting as a bridge between the courts, treatment providers, and the client. Key responsibilities include assessing clients' needs, monitoring their compliance with court orders, providing case management, and ensuring communication between all parties involved, such as judges, lawyers, probation and treatment providers. They simplify the process for the client by explaining requirements, assisting with paperwork, and preparing them for court appearances.</p><p></p><p><b><br>
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</b></p>

The addiction psychiatry opportunity is an academic faculty position at Assistant/Associate Professor level through CMU College of Medicine&rsquo;s Department of Psychiatry. This position will be responsible for direct patient care and will work as a leader of a multi-disciplinary team. </p><p><b><i>What you will be doing?</i></b></p>

We are seeking a qualified, compassionate, and experienced Addiction Medicine Physician (MD/DO) to join our team in West Kill, New York, specializing in detoxification and substance use disorder treatment. This is a per diem position with on-call responsibilities. The ideal candidate must be familiar with New York State Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS) regulations and have at least 2 years of experience in the field of detoxification and substance use treatment.</p><br>

<p><b><i>
What tasks are required?</i></b></p>
<ul>
<li><p>Provide medical care and treatment for patients with substance use disorders, including the management of detoxification, medication-assisted treatment (MAT), and other addiction-related care.</p>
</li>
<li><p>Perform comprehensive assessments and evaluations to determine appropriate treatment plans for patients.</p>
</li>
<li><p>Monitor and manage withdrawal symptoms, ensuring patient safety and comfort.</p>
</li>
<li><p>Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including therapists, nurses, and counselors, to provide holistic care and support.</p>
</li>
<li><p>Ensure compliance with OASAS regulations and New York State laws in all aspects of patient care.</p>
</li>
<li><p>Serve as an on-call physician for emergency situations and treatment needs.</p>

<li><p>Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in accordance with regulatory requirements.</p>

<li><p>Strong knowledge of New York State OASAS regulations and addiction treatment protocols.</p>
</li>
<li><p>Certification in Addiction Medicine (preferred).</p>
</li>
<li><p>Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.</p>

<li><p>Excellent communication, interpersonal, and clinical skills.</p>
</li>
