Required Qualifications
</b></p><ul><li>Possess Chapter N 8 Certification to practice as an Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber and registration as a Registered Nurse</li>
<li>Completion of continuing education training as required by the board of nursing</li>
<li>Psychiatric background is required</li>
<li>No convictions or license revocations that would fail a caregiver background check</li>
<li>Sufficient malpractice insurance to meet agency requirements
</li></ul><p><b>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</b></p>
<ul>
<li>Good clinical skills, especially related to mental health, medical issues, and substance use disorders
</li><li>Knowledge of DSM V, psychotropic medications, and their side effects
</li><li>Ability to communicate and work effectively in a positive manner with a diverse population of staff and participants
</li><li>Ability to respond appropriately in crisis situations, including de-escalation</li>
<li>Demonstrate cultural sensitivity, professionalism, and strong interpersonal skills while representing the agency both internally and externally</li>
<li>Ability to manage change, think critically, and be solution-oriented when dealing with situations as they arise in a fast-paced environment</li>
<li>Good organizational, dictation, and computer/typing skills
</li><li>Effective time management skills and the ability to multitask to meet various deadlines</li>
<li>Commitment to the APNP role and the participants we serve</li>

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:</b></p>
<p>
Position is based in an office setting with minimal driving in the community for home visits with participants; must be able to go up and down stairs and lift/carry 20 pounds; most of the work is done sitting at a desk while assessing participants, but some mobility within the office is needed. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.</p>

<p><b>WORK ENVIRONMENT:</b></p>
<p>
Work is performed both in a busy treatment environment, and sometimes in the community where participants&rsquo; symptomatology may be evident; most of the work is done sitting at a desk; hours average 16-24 hours/week.</p><br>
