<p><b>Position Summary:</b><br>
Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), the Principal Internal Auditor oversees internal audit and risk management processes to ensure financial accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency.</p>
<p><b>Responsibilities and Essential Functions:</b></p>
<ul>
<li>Leads the planning, development, and implementation of comprehensive internal audit programs, including financial, operational, and compliance audits, to ensure the integrity and reliability of financial reporting and operational efficiency.</li>
<li>Develops and maintains an effective internal control environment by identifying risks, evaluating controls, and recommending improvements to safeguard NHEC&rsquo;s assets, reporting identified risks regularly to the Audit Committee.</li>

<li>Collaborates with the Director of IT to conduct cyber security audits, ensuring the protection of NHEC&rsquo;s digital assets and compliance with relevant regulations.</li>
<li>Reviews and evaluates company-wide departmental processes and procedures, providing recommendations for improvements and ensuring adherence to established policies and procedures.</li>
<li>Coordinates with external financial auditors, providing necessary documentation and support to facilitate the external audit process and addressing follow-up questions or analysis work that may arise.</li>
<li>Develops and maintains a systematic internal audit tracking system, building on past data and prepare and present detailed internal audit reports to the CAO, Senior Leadership Team and Audit Committee of the Board of Directors, regularly highlighting key findings, risks, and recommendations for corrective actions.</li>
<li>Internally Audits NHEC's financial controls and compliance with procedures and best practices, reviewing the company's financial records and ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data.</li>
<li>Working closely with the CFO or their designee to minimize NHEC&rsquo;s risk exposure by ensuring all lines of appropriate insurance coverage are in place, negotiating contracts for appropriate coverage. Manages all claims with the appropriate stakeholders and assists external entities with documentation, as well as claim guidance. This includes all non-employee insurance renewals and claims.</li>
<li>Supports the objectives of NHEC by participating in strategic planning sessions and providing insights based on the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) assessment, and internal audit findings.</li>
<li>Provides ad-hoc analytical reports to the CAO, Senior Leadership Team, Audit Committee and staff, responding promptly to requests for information and analysis.</li>

As a Part‑Time Internal Auditor, you will play a critical role in safeguarding Vibe&rsquo;s operations, governance, and internal control environment. You will provide independent assurance to the Audit Committee, Board of Directors, and Management by conducting audits and consulting services designed to add value and improve organizational effectiveness.<br>

This role is an integral part of Vibe&rsquo;s internal control structure and operates under policies established by the Board of Directors and Management. Your work will directly support transparency, risk management, and member trust.<br>

<b><i>What You&rsquo;ll Do:</i></b></div>
<ul><li>Execute Internal Audits: Complete audits in a timely manner in accordance with the approved Internal Audit Plan.</li>
<li>Support Risk Assessment: Assist senior management in developing the annual Internal Audit risk assessment and identifying key risk areas.</li>
<li>Contribute to Audit Planning: Help prepare the three‑year Internal Audit schedule based on annual risk assessments.</li>
<li>Develop Audit Programs: Assist in creating audit programs to support planned audits and reviews.</li>
<li>Evaluate Controls: Verify and examine accounts, records, financials, and operational processes to ensure compliance with internal controls.</li>
<li>Stay Informed: Maintain awareness of regulatory requirements, audit standards, best practices, and emerging audit techniques.</li>
<li>Build Relationships: Develop strong, collaborative working relationships with credit union staff and leadership.</li>
<li>Report Findings: Distribute audit reports, reviews, and memorandums to the Audit Committee and appropriate management teams.</li>
<li>Recommend Improvements: Identify control gaps and recommend corrective actions; follow through to implementation.</li>
<li>Understand Operations: Gain working knowledge of credit union products and services to assess the adequacy of internal controls.</li>
<li>Perform Other Duties: Support additional audit‑related projects and responsibilities as assigned.</li>
