The CHW Fabricator is responsible for the fabrication, installation, and modification of chilled water piping systems in accordance with technical drawings, specifications, and project requirements. The role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, welding, cutting, and assembling techniques to ensure the accurate and efficient installation of CHW systems for commercial, industrial, or institutional projects.Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>Read and interpret mechanical drawings, piping schematics, and technical specifications for chilled water systems.</li><li>Fabricate CHW pipework including cutting, threading, grooving, welding, and assembling pipes and fittings.</li><li>Measure and layout pipe systems in accordance with project drawings and instructions.</li><li>Select appropriate materials, tools, and equipment for fabrication work.</li><li>Install supports, hangers, brackets, and insulation for CHW systems as needed.</li><li>Ensure all work complies with relevant codes, safety standards, and quality requirements.</li><li>Coordinate with HVAC technicians, plumbers, and other trades to integrate systems.</li><li>Maintain accurate records of materials used and work performed.</li><li>Troubleshoot and correct any fabrication or installation issues.</li><li>Perform pressure testing, flushing, and commissioning support for CHW systems.</li><li>Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE at all times.</li><li>Maintain cleanliness and organization of the fabrication area.</li></ul>Requirements:<ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school certification is a plus.</li><li>Minimum 2&ndash;5 years of experience in pipe fabrication or mechanical HVAC systems.</li><li>Strong knowledge of chilled water systems and piping practices.</li><li>Proficient in the use of fabrication tools such as pipe threaders, welders, saws, and grinders.</li><li>Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.</li><li>Experience with welding techniques (TIG, MIG, Stick) and knowledge of pipe fitting.</li><li>Familiarity with safety regulations and mechanical codes (e.g., ASME, OSHA).</li><li>Good physical condition with ability to lift heavy materials and work in various positions.</li><li>Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.</li><li>Excellent teamwork and communication skills.</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications:<ul><li>Certification in welding or pipefitting.</li><li>OSHA 10/30 or other relevant safety certifications.</li><li>Experience in prefabrication shop environments.</li></ul>Job Type: Full-time
