The Department of Mathematics at the University of Houston invites applications for a postdoctoral position. This is an appointment for an initial term of 12 months, with the possibility of renewal for an additional year, contingent upon performance, mutual agreement, and funding availability. The tentative start date is November 1, 2026, though an earlier start date is possible.<br>

The Postdoctoral Fellow will join Dr. Demetrio Labate&rsquo;s research group at the University of Houston. The candidate is expected to conduct independent and collaborative research, contribute to the department, college, and university, and actively engage in the academic community. Responsibilities include giving lectures in departmental seminars, presenting research findings at national and international conferences. The candidate will have opportunities to mentor undergraduate and graduate students involved in the project.<br>

<b>Required and Preferred Qualifications:</b></p>
<p>
We seek a candidate with a Ph.D. in mathematics or a closely related field, with experiences in one or more of the following areas: image analysis, harmonic analysis, machine learning, including applications to the analysis of bioimages. The candidates is expected to have familiarity with Python and experience in the development of numerical codes of image analysis and image processing.<br>
