<div><p>The <b>Commercial Drivers</b> are responsible for operating heavy-duty trucks with front or rear end load lift attachment. Drivers are responsible for providing the pickup service of containers filled with waste or recyclable materials. Containers may weigh in excess of 1000 pounds and at times require drivers to maneuver wheeled containers to a pickup stage area. Driver will transport the material to a disposal, transfer, or recycle facility when trucks reach legal load capacity. This role navigates high traffic and congested roadways, driveways, alleyways, and lots. Highly skilled backing maneuvers are essential to successfully perform this job.</p><p></p><p><b>

Operate vehicle in accordance with Lakeshore Waste Services safety and Life Critical Rules, OSHA (Occupational and Safety Health Act), and DOT (Department of Transportation) requirements as well as all local, state, and federal laws</li><li>
Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle and documents checks utilizing the standard DVIR (Driver Vehicle Inspection Report)</li><li>
Immediately report all unsafe situations or service-related issues to Route Manager or Dispatch</li><li>
Attend and participate in all scheduled training programs, briefings, and meetings as required by LRS or directed by the Route Manager</li><li>
Work closely with Route Manager to improve route efficiencies and identify best practices</li><li>
Notify Route Manager of any incidents, accidents, injures, or property damage</li><li>
Notify Route Manager or Dispatch of service interruptions including blocked containers, closed lots, streets, alleyways or potential safety hazards</li><li>
Communicate customer requests to Dispatch or Route Manager</li><li>
Identify and report all containers in need of repair or replacement</li><li>
Ensure the number of containers on the route reconciles to the service level listed on service list</li><li>
Completely dumps all containers and leaves the customer&rsquo;s location clean and free of debris</li><li>
Complete and submit customer tickets as required when excessive yardage must be removed</li><li>
Position and return containers on the customer&rsquo;s property in a manner that ensures lids are properly replaced</li><li>
Ensure doors are closed and secured and containers do not block driveway entrances or traffic</li><li>
Follow route assignments as directed and completes end of day documentation and check out process</li><li>
Perform all duties as scheduled by Route Manager or Dispatch and assisting other drivers as directed to meet customer needs</li><li>

Requirements:

Drivers are responsible for on-time pickups and deliveries, compliance with DOT regulations, accurate log bookkeeping and paperwork, and professional communication with dispatch and customers.</b></p><p><b>Key Responsibilities</b></p><ul><li>Safely operate a company tractor-trailer pulling dry van, hopper bottom, belly dump, and/or flatbed trailers (as assigned).</li><li>Complete pickups and deliveries on schedule; follow route and appointment requirements.</li><li>Perform pre-trip/post-trip inspections; report defects and maintenance needs promptly.</li><li>Maintain accurate ELD logs and required trip documentation.</li><li>Complete and submit paperwork including BOLs, PODs, seal numbers (when applicable), and checkin/check-out procedures.</li><li>Communicate clearly with dispatch regarding ETAs, delays, and load status.</li><li>Follow all DOT/FMCSA regulations, traffic laws, and company safety policies.</li><li>Keep equipment clean and professional; fuel and park safely.</li></ul><p><b>Freight Handling</b></p><ul><li>Freight handling is based on business needs and driver's ability.</li></ul><p>*Note: Flatbed assignments may require checking securement and/or tarps per company policy (even when freight is no-touch).</p><p><b>Qualifications</b></p><ul><li><i><b>Valid CDL Class A (required).</b></i></li><li><i><b>Minimum 2 years of CDL driving experience (required).</b></i></li><li><i><b>Acceptable driving record and commitment to safety.</b></i></li><li><i><b>Ability to pass DOT physical and pre-employment drug testing (and other checks as required).</b></i></li><li><i><b>Experience with dry van/hopper bottom/belly dump/flatbed preferred (qualified applicants may be considered).</b></i></li><li><i><b>Ability to climb in/out of the cab and perform basic job-related physical tasks</b></i>.</li></ul><p><b>Route Types</b></p><ul><li>Positions may include Local, Regional, and OTR routes (based on business needs and driver availability).</li></ul><p><b>Work Schedule &amp; Conditions</b></p><ul><li>Schedule varies and may include nights, weekends, or holidays as needed.
