 About the Role
 
 
 
 
 We&rsquo;re looking for senior technical leaders who can architect and scale intelligent systems that architect the "brain" of our dark store operations. As a senior data scientist you won&rsquo;t just be building models, you&rsquo;ll be optimizing the lifecycle of millions of items from the moment they leave a supplier to the moment they reach a customer&rsquo;s doorstep in under 20 minutes. You will tackle the classic "perishable trade-off" ensuring our shelves are always stocked with what customers want, while ruthlessly minimizing wastage and maximizing every square centimetre of our dark store floor space.

 Space Management: Optimize dark store space determining which items should be stored where within the dark store to minimize picker travel time and maximize storage density.

 What You'll Need

 Academic Background &amp; Experience: 8+ years of experience in Data Science, ideally in E-commerce, Q-commerce, or Supply Chain. A background in Operations Research or Statistics. Hands-on proficiency in Python, Spark and ML frameworks. Experience with real-time inference systems and model monitoring in production. Strong understanding of experimentation, A/B testing, and causal inference. Demonstrated ability to drive architectural decisions across teams.

 In this role, you will leverage data-centric AI principles to assess the impact of data on model performance and the broader machine learning pipeline. You will apply Generative AI techniques to evaluate how well our data represents human language and conduct experiments to measure downstream interactions.

 Lead human annotation initiatives and model evaluation audits to ensure data quality and relevance

 <li>
 Conduct statistical analysis to measure model performance, identify failure patterns, and guide improvement strategies

The Department of Environmental Quality is looking to fill an Air Monitoring Scientist (Environmental Scientist III) position in the Division of Air Quality. This position may be filled at any of the advertised levels listed below. Salary depends on the job level offered within the series.
Key Responsibilities 
<ul><li>
Operate, calibrate, and perform complex repairs on ambient air monitoring equipment to ensure continuous data collection and minimal downtime.</li><li>
Utilize advanced analytical equipment to measure and evaluate air pollutants in accordance with established scientific protocols.</li><li>
Execute all field and laboratory activities in strict accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and state/federal environmental regulations.</li><li>
Implement rigorous quality control requirements to ensure the integrity, accuracy, and legal defensibility of environmental data.</li><li>
Maintain meticulous Chain of Custody documentation for all samples from initial collection through laboratory analysis and final disposal.</li></ul>
Qualifications 
Minimum Qualifications:<ul><li>
Experience working in and around analytical equipment and instruments.
</li><li>Experience ensuring quality control measures are followed.</li><li>
Experience operating, troubleshooting and repairing scientific instrumentation and air monitoring equipment i.e., gas chromatography instruments, particulate samplers, gaseous analyzers for NOx, ozone, CO, SO2 and VOC&rsquo;s.</li><li>
Experience conducting laboratory analysis of samples including prepping and weighing filter material.</li><li>
Ability and experience working independently, including working at off-campus locations. 
</li><li>
Ability to operate, troubleshoot and repair complex equipment including air monitoring equipment.</li><li>
Ability to work effectively within a team environment and integrate seamlessly with existing staff.</li><li>
Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in all work products.</li><li>
Strong time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.</li></ul>
Preferred Qualifications:<ul><li>
Bachelor degree or higher in a science related field including computer science.</li><li>
An understanding of the principles related to pollution monitoring, research methods and data collection protocols.</li><li>
Completion of the APTI 470 course, or equivalent.</li><li>
Certifications from API Teledyne or Thermo Scientific related to instrument training.</li></ul>
Other Requirements:<ul><li>
Possession of a valid driver&rsquo;s license and the ability to travel throughout the state as required.</li><li>
Work requires physical exertion. May require the ability to stand; walk over rough surfaces; bend, crouch, stoop, stretch, reach, lift moderately heavy items (up to 50 lbs.) in a recurring manner and/or for long periods of time.
