Based at the Mandarin Oriental Al Faisaliah Riyadh within the Finance Department in Riyadh, the Director of Finance is responsible for the supervision of all members of the Finance &amp; Purchasing Department, for the determination of optimum control objectives and for the installation and maintenance of appropriate internal control systems over income, expenditure, assets and liabilities within the hotel, budget and forecast process and finance meetings with Corporate MOHG finance and Owners. The Director of Finance reports to the General Manager.

As Director of Finance, you will be responsible for the following duties:

About the role:
The Assistant Director of Finance supports the Director of Finance in managing the hotel&rsquo;s daily financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, strong internal controls, and compliance with policies. The role oversees accounting functions, assists with budgeting and forecasting, and partners with departments to improve financial performance and cost efficiency.
Duties &amp; Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Thoroughly understand and possess a working knowledge of the Accounting &amp; Finance Manual
</li><li>Excellent understanding of Month-End Process including, but not limited to, preparation of financial statements, accruals and journal entries, maintain reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts in established corporate formats and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principals.
</li><li>Great attention to detail along with a continuous innovation of daily working of the Finance team under the direction of the Director of Finance.
</li><li>Coordinate, observe and prepare all operating equipment and supply inventories in accordance with corporate policies and as directed by the Director of Finance.
</li><li>Prepare Daily Cash Position report and maintain the highest level of investment of excess funds in accordance with corporate guidelines as prescribed in the Accounting &amp; Finance Manual.

</li><li>Ensure electronic payments have the signatory of a member of Group B on each individual page and the initials of a member of Group A and both members of Group A and B sign the Batch Total of the payment run.
</li><li>Ensure strict access controls over unused cheques to prevent improper or unauthorized use of the documents and ensure there is segregation of duties in place to safeguard the writing and voiding of negotiable bank cheques.
</li><li>Ensure accurate exchange rates in Financial Reporting are applied to the local currency (where applicable) and valued in the currency stipulated in the Management Agreement.
</li><li>Ensure post-departure credit card credit allowances are performed only by accounting and all such allowances are reviewed and signed per the SR-5 by Director of Finance or Assistant Director of Finance and all &ldquo;Unmatched Credits&rdquo; reports provided by credit card processing company are reviewed/scrutinized by DOF monthly and retained by the Director of Finance.
</li><li>Approve all journal entries with supporting documentation (as appropriate) and ensure all non-standard, non-recurring entries are countersigned by Director of Finance.
</li><li>Ensure the system is set up to prevent month end closing without all journal entries being posted, updated or otherwise entered into the General Ledger.
</li><li>Ensure that monthly reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts are prepared and all bank reconciliations are countersigned by Director of Finance on a monthly and on a quarterly basis; Director of Finance approves all reconciliations paying special attention to reconciling items.

What You'll Do</h2>

As the Assistant Director of Finance, you'll direct financial activities of a Kimpton property by performing the following duties personally or through leading an accounting staff.
<h2 class="jobSectionHeader">
Some of your responsibilities include:</h2>
<ul><li>Prepare Daily Flash Report and distribute to GM, President, and Corp. Controller.</li>
<li>Ensure daily deposit of cash receipts and credit card receipts, along with issuing deposit slips for pick-up, prepare Change Fund for Front Desk and cashier banks.</li>
<li>Complete Income Audit checklist.</li>
<li>File documents, statements, letters, etc., and prepare responses.</li>
<li>Review guest requests, copies of folios, billing corrections, etc.</li>
<li>Process travel agent commission daily.</li>
<li>Bill to customer daily, process payment checks, make adjustments as necessary.</li>
<li>Supervise filing system for dead folios/reservations, registration slip and correspondence.</li>
<li>Issue emergency payment checks if necessary, process credit applications.</li>
<li>Prepare and distribute P/R analysis and semi-monthly flash report.</li>
<li>Tabulate multiple invoices and verify with statements.</li>
<li>Balance A/R aging reports, including trade-out.</li>
<li>Pay all taxes due.</li>
<li>Supervise inventory record keeping.</li>
<li>Calculate and pay rent and management fees where applicable.</li>
<li>Prepare group insurance eligibility list and calculate and pay premium.</li>
<li>Prepare G/L for financial reports, bank reconciliations, P/L variance analysis, and key indicators report.</li>
<li>Prepare bank reconciliations and supporting work sheets for assets and liabilities accounts.</li>
<li>Do cost efficiency analysis - make recommendations for improvement.</li>
<li>Assist in preparing coming year's operation budget (due in November).</li>
<li>Assist in preparation of the Capital Improvement Budget and schedules requested by outside auditors, evaluate current year performance and provide constructive suggestions.</li>
<li>Assist in leading the Accounting Department.</li>
<li>Assists in the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit.</li>

<ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Studies is required, a Master's degree is a plus.</li>
<li>2 years of accounting or finance management experience.</li>
<li>Well organized, detail-oriented with excellent follow-up.</li>
<li>Excellent communication skills both internally and externally.</li>
<li>Experience with PeopleSoft or similar accounting package is preferred.</li>
<li>Prior experience with Outlook soft/BPC preferred.</li>
<li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with an emphasis in Excel.</li>

Compensation: $86,000.00 is the salary for this role. This job is also eligible for bonus pay. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401k, and many other benefits to eligible employees.
