<li>Performs and provides appropriate follow-up for Adult and Pediatric EKGs. (50%)</li>
<li>Performs Treadmill Stress Testing, Holter Monitor hook up and removal, Device Interrogation, and Event Monitor hookup with appropriate follow up (25%)</li>
<li>Processes and ensures that all EKGs are completed and appropriately transmitted to medical record for both inpatients and outpatients. (25%)</li>
<li>Recognizes and reports changes from previous EKG tracings as well as any life threatening arrhythmias.</li>
<li>Responds to all Maydays and Rapid Responses to perform 12 lead EKG tracing and/or rhythm strips and report any changes to physician.</li>

Responsibilities: <b>Position Summary:
</b><p>Reports to the Supervisor of the Cardiovascular Center. Under general supervision performs ECGs, Holter monitors and data management. Must have a knowledge of complex cardiac arrythmias. Is required to possess technical knowledge and clinical expertise to perform electrocardiograms, Holter monitor testing and data management. As the Senior ECG technologist,is responsible for Holter monitor scanning and assisting in the stress lab when needed. Is the superuser for the ECG management system data base, processes and teaching the physicians to read ECGs on line. Is expected to display professional conduct at all times in their interactions with other staff members, patients and visitors. Self motivation, ability to work independently and versatility are strong prerequisite characteristics for this position.</p>

This employee will supervise the daily operations of the phlebotomy/EKG area in OP Centers and act as the liaison between OP Centers and main laboratory and physician offices. This employee will oversee training of any new employee requiring phlebotomy skills, as well as students. This employee will order weekly storeroom supplies and provide feedback for employee evaluations. This employee may be assigned to complete patient registrations, patient scheduling and test order entry via the computer system.<br>

</b></p><p>1. Ensure daily operations of the phlebotomy/EKG areas. Obtain/process specimens following established protocols in all age groups. Consistently explain proper instructions for obtaining specimens. Enter data, complete all required documentation. Maintains proficiency in EKG and Phlebotomy.

2. Ensures patient flow processes are constantly and efficiently flowing. Stress Testing/Holter Monitors/Event Monitors/Laboratory Processing/Inpatient Phlebotomy/Assisting DI/Assisting Physicians/Assisting Walk Studies/Monitoring Patients/Registration/Scheduling/Transcription/Admissions/Insurance

3. Obtains the current information and relays the proper procedures to the patients. Completes the required duties of the area. Able to rotate to all OP Centers sites which include the Main Campuses, the Women&rsquo;s Centers, and the off-sites.

4. Assist Manager/Director with employee scheduling, ordering stock, corrective action process, timekeeping, and education days. Provide direction and support to other Patient Care techs. Acts as a resource and provides guidance to other support staff. Assists with the patient flow process in the departments. Assists with developing and implementing Performance Improvement measures. Effectively communicates to other Patient Care techs. Assumes other responsibilities as directed by the Manager/Director.

17. Send routine specimens to the lab every 30 minutes. Send STAT specimens to the lab immediately.

18. Walk patients to the DI areas in a timely manner and prepare them for the procedure.

19. Ensures recollects are called within 24-48 hrs of notice.<br>
