Environmental Technician&mdash; Valdosta, GA
TTL is seeking an Environmental Technician to join our team in Valdosta, GA. In this position, you will play a vital role supporting environmental compliance for both private and public sectors. Typical duties include taking samples and performing tests, while also adhering to all health and safety guidelines. This position will require traveling to job sites, and the distance can vary depending on the project.
Description<ul><li>
Performs routine field environmental sampling of groundwater, storm water, soil, etc.</li><li>
Conduct wetland and stream delineation with Professional Wetland Scientist.</li><li>
Monitors, observes, samples, and records field environmental conditions.</li><li>
Performs maintenance on remediation systems.</li><li>
Follow proper procedures, perform accurate computations, and maintain cordial relationships with coworkers, clients, contractors, etc.</li><li>
Prepare daily reports and data sheets. Operates with close to moderate supervision.</li><li>
Typical activities include, but are not limited to: map reading, maintain chain-of-custody forms, utilize equipment to measure field parameters, environmental site inspections, and field inspections for drilling access and general utility clearance.</li><li>

Requirements:<ul><li>
Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED equivalent. College coursework or degree preferred. Emphasis in physical sciences and/or math.</li><li>

Ability to communicate professionally orally and in writing.</li><li>
Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment.</li><li>
Ability to travel overnight, extended on occasion.</li><li>

Summary:

Responsibilities: 
<ul>
<li>Performs all types of floor care and maintenance throughout the facility, including hard surfaces and carpeting. Complete special cleaning projects such as carpet cleaning / shampooing, carpet extraction, floor finish removal and application, wall washing and other similar duties such as cleaning stairwell and elevators and hanging of curtains.</li>
<li>Adhere to all organizational safety, risk management and infection control standards while promoting a culture of safety.</li>
<li>Inspect equipment used and clean and maintain to ensure proper functioning; have repairs made as needed.</li>
<li>Operates all equipment with care and according to facility and manufacturers safety standards and procedures.</li>
<li>Remove waste and transport to appropriate disposal area while identifying proper waste stream (i.e. regulated medical, recycle, solid, and hazardous).</li>
<li>Follow all infection prevention practices (i.e. proper cleaning process, hand hygiene, standard and isolation precautions where and if required and proper use of personal Protective Equipment (PPE).</li>
<li>Recognizes and adheres to patient privacy requirements (HIPAA).</li>
<li>Record daily housekeeping activities for assigned area; record daily requests for maintenance in assigned area.</li>
<li>Occasionally complete routine cleaning functions in assigned area following established schedules and using prescribed methods. Duties may include, but are not limited to, dusting, vacuuming, gathering and disposing of trash and waste materials, removing linens, cleaning and disinfecting bathrooms and / or patient rooms, cleaning and disinfecting fixtures, wet mopping and other similar duties.</li>
<li>Utilize bed tracking system to identify cleaning needs; respond to pager or overhead pages, and respond and assist on emergency spills.</li>
