About the job

Based at the Emirates palace Mandarin Oriental, Abu Dhabi within the Finance Department, the Financial Accountant will play a key role in maintaining and improving financial processes, analysing financial data, and to assist the Director of Finance/ Assistant Financial Controller in all areas. The Financial Accountant reports to the Director of Finance/ Assistant Financial Controller.

As Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for the following duties:

<li>Oversee and manage the day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities</li>
<li>Prepare and review financial statements, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards</li>
<li>Investigate and input bank statement data</li>
<li>Prepare bank reconciliations such as agency imprest and replacement reserve</li>
<li>Review accounts payable monthly inventory reconciliations</li>
<li>Review accounts payable purchase journal</li>
<li>Review and prepare input in the general ledger from various sources</li>
<li>Review food and beverage control reconciliations and journal</li>
<li>Review accounts payable / inventory interface</li>
<li>Prepare balance sheet record and identify and reconcile all items therein</li>
<li>Manage Payroll Audit</li>
<li>Assist with the annual budgeting and forecasting process, working closely with department heads to develop comprehensive financial plans</li>
<li>Coordinate and participate in the year-end audit process, ensuring timely and accurate completion of all audit requirements</li>
<li>Controls all balance sheet accounts by preparation of monthly account reconciliations and actions accordingly</li>
<li>Prepares monthly Financial Statements for distribution to Department Heads and Executives, as directed by the Director of Finance</li>
<li>Prepares all journal vouchers related to for month-end closing and to ensure that all JV&rsquo;s are recorded in the system</li>
<li>Responsible for uploading / input of Hyperion records and generating of Hyperion reports</li>
<li>Responsible for updating and maintenance of reports in Sun System version 6.04</li>
<li>Responsible in assisting during the month-end closing preparing journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations</li>
</ul>
As Financial Accountant, we expect from you:
<ul>
<li>Must be a graduate with knowledge of accounting. ACCA or similar qualification will be an advantage</li>
<li>Minimum of 5 years&rsquo; experience in a similar role preferably in a luxury Hotel Group, resort experience will be a plus</li>
<li>Must possess hands on experience in Sun Accounting System and Hyperion system</li>
