The Fire Sprinkler Designer will design and prepare layout drawings for fire sprinkler systems in commercial, industrial and/or residential settings. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of fire protection codes, hydraulic calculations and CAD software. The Fire Sprinkler Designer will work closely with project managers, engineers, contractors and other partners to ensure all systems meet safety standards and client requirements.
Essential Duties &amp; Responsibilities:<ul><li>
Apply fire protection codes and standards to the design of fire sprinkler systems, water supplies, pumps, standpipes, foam systems, and water storage tanks.</li><li>
Read and interpret Architectural, Structural, and MEP blueprints/PDF&rsquo;s, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.</li><li>
Perform preliminary and advanced work in development of working layouts and final master drawings.</li><li>
Confer with engineers/consultants or other personnel to layout a code-compliant fire sprinkler system.</li><li>
Coordinate and monitor aspects of production, including fabrication, installation issues, and inspection comments.</li><li>
Design automatic fire sprinkler systems, standpipe systems, fire pumps, and underground systems</li><li>
Perform and analyze hydraulic calculations, plot plans, and stock-list/fabricate material for the job site.</li><li>
Assist with the preparation of proposal documents, technical data such as test procedures, reports, maintenance manuals, etc.</li><li>
Ensure designs comply with applicable codes (NFPA, local/state fire codes, building codes).</li><li>
Required to provide information to supervisors and co-workers by telephone, in written form, email, and/or in person.</li><li>
Analyze information and evaluate the results to solve problems and choose cost effective and material efficient solutions.</li><li>
Walk sites for site surveys where there may be long periods of standing as well as climbing and descending of ladders/steps</li><li>
Other duties as assigned by management.</li></ul>
Education/Qualifications:<ul><li>
High school diploma or equivalent; Associate&rsquo;s or Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in engineering, drafting or related field is preferred.</li><li>
3+ years of experience in fire sprinkler design and AutoCad.</li><li>
Experience using Microsoft Office and computer aided design (CAD) software &mdash; Autodesk</li><li>
AutoCAD; Autodesk Revit; Autodesk Navisworks; AutoSPRINK, BIM 360.</li><li>
Basic understanding of mathematics and physics, relevant to design and hydraulics.</li><li>
NICET certification (Level II or higher) in Water-Based Systems Layout is preferred.</li></ul>
Other Duties:<ul><li>
Adheres to the Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, and Company Safety Policy.</li><li>
Performs other duties as assigned</li></ul>
Physical Requirements:<ul><li>
Job duties could require walking and standing for long periods of time, climbing and descending ladders/steps for site surveys.</li><li>
While performing the essential functions of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands or arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and is occasionally required to lift and/or move heavy objects.</li><li>

Responsible for service and repair of fire sprinkler piping and piping systems, fixtures, sprinkling, and industrial processing systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.<ul><li>
Service and repair of wet fire sprinkler systems including the associated pipe, fittings, valves, and sprinkler heads.</li><li>
Service and repair of dry fire sprinkler systems including the associated pipe, fittings, valves, and sprinkler heads.</li><li>
Responsible for OS&amp;Y valves including the installation of a repacking kit</li><li>
Working with metal and plastic (such as PVC and CPVC) pipe</li><li>
Service and repair of air compressors and associated controls</li><li>
Service and repair fire pumps and associated controls Securing pipes to structure with clamps, brackets, and hangers, using hand tools.</li><li>
Testing piping systems for leaks by increasing pressure in pipes and observing gauges.</li><li>

Must be able to regularly accept and work emergency service and repair calls from the dispatcher outside of normal business hours including late at night, early in the morning, and weekends.</li></ul>
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 2-3 years related experience as a Fire Sprinkler Service technician and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with anti-freeze loops and pre-action systems a plus. Experience reading and interpreting fire sprinkler installation plans preferred.

Job Description Summary 
The Fire Sprinkler Designer will design and prepare layout drawings for fire sprinkler systems in commercial, industrial and/or residential settings.
