<div><p>The Transportation Worker 3 Equipment Operator will report to the Disforce/Heavy Maintenance Organization located in Ohio County. Will travel throughout District Six performing a variety of skilled work at the journeyman level in the construction and maintenance of highways. During paving season, employee will perform all aspects of paving operation. During non-paving periods, employee will be responsible for tree canopy cutting, ditching, culvert installation, slip repair, snow an ice removal, and all other duties as required. Employee, with appropriate certification, will operate a variety of heavy motorized highway maintenance equipment including, but not limited to: asphalt paver (and screed), semi-truck and fifth wheel trailer, tandem or single axle dump trucks and trailers, snow plow and spreaders, roller, tar distributor, bucket truck, motor grader, backhoe, bulldozer, rubber-tire excavator, track excavator and/or boom mower. Employee will also operate any medium-sized equipment or hand tools incidental to the assigned task. Employee will perform related work as required. Will assist in the maintenance of vehicles, equipment and headquarters by cleaning and making minor mechanic repairs. May be exposed to hazardous working conditions, inclement weather, and/or extended hours. Travel is required. A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is also required; preference may be given to applicants possessing a Class A Commercial Driver's License. Performs other related duties as required.</p><ul><li>
The selected applicant will be placed in a U.S. Department of Labor apprenticeship program. Progression through the apprenticeship program is dependent upon hours completed, proficiency in work, training completed, as well as maintaining and/or obtaining a Commercial Driver&rsquo;s License (CDL).</li><li>
The WVDOT is responsible for the planning, construction, maintenance, and regulation of over 35,000 miles of state roads. This duty may necessitate employees working irregular hours, shifts, weekends, and more than 40 hours per week, occasionally without prior notice.</li><li>

<p></p><div><p>The Transportation Worker 1 Equipment Operator will report to the Wood County Maintenance Headquarters. Under general supervision, will perform entry-level functions, working in the construction and maintenance of highways. Duties include: Driving a light truck or vehicle during regular operation as well as during snow removal and ice control (SRIC). Operating various equipment such as a fork truck, end loader, skid steer, rollers, utility tractor, brush chipper, as well as various hand tools. May fill in answering telephone and radio calls during SRIC. May be responsible for transporting materials or fuel to equipment. Providing traffic control by flagging on job sites. Selected applicants may be exposed to hazardous working conditions and inclement weather. Performs other related duties as required.</p><ul><li>
The selected applicant will be placed in a U.S. Department of Labor apprenticeship program. The selected applicant will be required, within 6 months of employment, to obtain a commercial driver's license (CDL). Progress through the apprenticeship program, as well as the opportunity for advancement to a higher classification, is dependent upon hours completed, proficiency in work, training completed, as well as obtaining and maintaining a Commercial Driver&rsquo;s License (CDL).</li><li>
The WVDOT is responsible for the planning, construction, maintenance, and regulation of over 35,000 miles of state roads. This duty may necessitate employees working irregular hours, shifts, weekends, and more than 40 hours per week, occasionally without prior notice.</li><li>
In the area of assignment of Equipment Operator, a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) will be required within six (6) months of employment.</li><li>
