We are seeking a dedicated hematologist with a strong interest and expertise in managing malignant hematological disorders and engaging in translational and clinical research. The position is available at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor level, depending on qualifications.</p><p></p><p><br>
The successful candidate will provide care on the hematology inpatient and consult services and participate in teaching activities at Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center (BSLMC). Job Duties</b></h2></div><div><p>
Scope of practice:</p><ul><li>
This position is open to both Pediatric Hematology-Oncology fellowship trained or General Pediatric/Internal Medicine-Pediatric residency trained physicians. No hematology-oncology specific training is required for the residency-trained applicant. Training will be provided after hiring.</li><li>
Residency trained applicants do not need to have Hospital Medicine fellowship training- they may be hired directly out of residency.</li><li>
Both types of applicant will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to manage inpatient care of Hematology/Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplant patients. They will attend to patient&rsquo;s medical needs on admitted inpatients as well as assist with new admissions.</li><li>
Based on their training, applicants can oversee junior level personnel including fellows, residents and advanced practice practitioners and can be involved in education.</li></ul><p></p><p><br>
Roles include:</p><p>
Approximately 8 weeks of in-house night coverage per year.</p><p>
Fellowship trained physicians:</p><ul><li>
Attending on the inpatient (daytime) service teams within the faculty attending rotation.</li><li>
Assigned days performing bone marrow aspirate/biopsies and lumbar punctures as part of our Procedure Team.</li><li>
Other clinical duties are possible based on service needs and/or individual interest.</li><li>
Efforts will be made to align clinical duties to areas in which the candidate has clinical and/or research interest.</li></ul><p>
Residency trained physicians:</p><ul><li>
Daytime assignments will be in a frontline practitioner role on Hematology-Oncology or Bone Marrow Transplant teams.</li><li>
