Primary Functions</p></li></ul></div></div><div><ul><div><ul><li>
Independently review and verify Electrical Design Basis and design philosophies for oil &amp; gas projects in line with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.</li><li>
Perform design reviews of electrical power generation and distribution systems (HV, MV, LV), including substations and system architecture.</li><li>
Review UPS systems supplying DCS, ESD, F&amp;G, telecom, and other safety-critical loads, verifying sizing philosophy, autonomy, redundancy, and segregation.</li><li>
Conduct independent reviews of electrical Single Line Diagrams (SLDs) for compliance, consistency, and system reliability.</li><li>
Review motor specifications, starting philosophy, protection schemes, and interfaces with mechanical and process systems.</li><li>
Verify earthing, bonding, and lightning protection system designs to ensure personnel safety, static discharge control, and hazardous area compliance.</li><li>
Review electrical equipment specifications, datasheets, and bulk material specifications without assuming design ownership.</li><li>
Assess electrical layouts, equipment rooms, substations, transit layouts, and cable routing concepts from safety, operability, and maintainability perspectives.</li><li>
Perform compliance checks against international standards (IEC, IEEE, API, NFPA, NEC, BS EN) and project-specific/client standards.</li><li>
Identify design gaps, deviations, and non-compliances, and raise formal review comments and technical observations.</li><li>
Carry out inter-disciplinary design checks (IDC) to verify electrical interfaces with instrumentation, mechanical, civil, and process disciplines.</li><li>
Review vendor documents and participate in technical bid evaluations (TBE) and vendor document reviews from an independent verification standpoint.</li><li>
Participate in FATs, Electrical-HAZOP, and design review workshops as an independent electrical discipline reviewer.</li><li>
Support client meetings, design review discussions, and technical clarification sessions while maintaining third-party impartiality.</li><li>
Prepare and contribute to design review reports, comment registers, close-out notes, and verification deliverables in support of certification activities.</li><li>

The engineer should have the following experience from the EPC Contactor
</p><ul><li>Preparation of Electrical Design Basis, Electrical Design Criteria, and project-specific electrical philosophies.</li><li>
Preparation of electrical equipment specifications and data sheets for DGs, transformers, switchgears, UPS, batteries, motors, cables, and DBs.</li><li>
Experience with electrical power generation and distribution systems, including HV, MV, and LV networks and substations.</li><li>
Electrical load list preparation, load calculations, and development of electrical system architecture.</li><li>
Sizing calculations for generators, transformers, UPS systems, batteries, cables, earthing, and lightning protection systems.</li><li>
Development and checking of Single Line Diagrams (SLDs) and typical electrical schematics.</li><li>
Preparation and review of bulk electrical material specifications and material take-offs.</li><li>
Experience in electrical equipment layouts, substation layouts, electrical room layouts, and cable routing layouts.</li><li>
Exposure to electrical system studies such as short-circuit, load flow, motor starting, and protection coordination (preparation or review).</li><li>
Experience in earthing and bonding system design, including lightning protection systems.</li><li>
Knowledge of hazardous area electrical design, including Ex equipment selection and installation practices.</li><li>
Preparation and review of vendor technical queries (TQs) and responses during engineering and procurement phases.</li><li>
Participation in technical bid evaluations (TBE) and review of vendor documents for electrical packages.</li><li>
